Hi boredofbeing athome, I hope you managed to get the ingredients for the recipes, I could'nt get any dill, so I left that out, I made up both of those recipes yesterday and my husband is asking for more already, I asked him: Since when was your name Oliver lol. But I must admit they were very tasty, Have a good day.

Hi Keren you should have had your rice a few more syns would not have hurt, you can always cut back on syns the next day, I always say a little bit of what you fancy dose you good, I remeber once looking into the baker shop window and seeing my favourite, a lovely custard slice ooh but I was very good and passed on by but I could not get that cake out of my mind for the rest of the day, I wished I had bought the darn thing in the end I know I would have enjoyed it. I always turned a blind eye to my members when they went over the top sometimes with their syns, they did not do it often, and lets face it everyone needs to let their hair down and have a treat from time to time, and don't forget tomorrow's always another day to start with a clean slate, have a treat when you feel you deserve one, I do

I think I ended up having about 24 syns if I counted the rice as a HEB and 31 if not.

I've not had any syns yet today and may not end up having many. Dinner is 1/2 syn Asda sausages and HEB mash, so if I have 4 sausages, that's 2 syns. might spend a few more on some butter beans or some gravy.

Well im only repeating what the SW consultant says in my class and ive ate it many times and lost alot of weight SO it must be ok, its up to people if they decide to do it, but it works for me and alot of other people that go the same group as me.

If it works for you that's great. Nevertheless, Cleosmum is right, brown rice is not listed as a HEB because it doesn't contain enough fibre. Look in the Food Optimising book for what you can have as a HEB and keep an eye on the website for new ones which are listed regularly.

Food Optimising is nutritionally sound if you follow it 100%. Missing out on healthy extras is at your own risk and having brown rice (which is not a HEB) would probably mean you missed a HEB that day.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Hello everyone,

I just thought id let you know with regards to rice and pasta, my sw consultant says you can have 28grams or brown rice OR pasta as a HEB. Its not in the book and i have had this many times with good weight losses so must be ok.
your consultant is wrong jeanette and she shouldnt be telling you that, there is not enough fibre in brown rice because thats what it is brown rice not wholemeal. you wouldnt eat brown bread instead of wholemeal. it is great that it hasnt affected your weightlosses but it may be different for others. sorry for bringing bad news but a lot of research goes into SW and they know better than the consultants.

I dont mind people not agreeing, just annoying when you get posts about missing HEB's, readin the book! it was just abit of advise ladies and gents, no one has to take it, im just saying what works for me thats all.

Hi Keren it looks as if you have done great today after your fraustrating day yesterday.

If you like cheese eggs & pasta you should try the recipe I listed yesterday its sin free if you use the cheese as a HEA and its very filling, not to mention the taste, Mmm Yummy.

Having a bit of a rubbish week with this diet and so far I think I have regained the 3lbs I lost last week....:rotfl: :o

So I'm having a fresh start tomorrow - fridge is stocked up with lots of lovely yoghurts and cottage cheeses, fruit bowl is overflowing, and I've done my meal plan for the week:

    Monday
SW curry and rice - 0.5 syns

    Tuesday
Working so will have to eat on the run - probably some cheesy pasta salad

    Wednesday
    Tuna pasta bake - 3.5 syns, 2 x HEA, 1 x HEB

    Thursday
Fajitas - 7.5 syns each

    Friday
Quorn sausages, poached eggs, SW chips, baked beans - 0 syns

    Saturday
Quorn keema-style curry and rice - 1 syn (plus 2 syns for mango chutney)

    Sunday
Spaghetti bolognaise with cheese on top - 2 syns, 2 x HEA

Have a good week everyone - my aim this week is to exercise 30 minutes each day, which should be achieveable including the school runs.
