Bum.
I popped to Somerfield and smelt the waft of chinese takeaway from the shop near by. I decided I fancied sweet and sour chicken, so I bought some chicken, a 'light' S+S sauce to syn and some brown rice - thinking I could b choice the rice.
I can't!!!!!!!!! Potato, yes, pasta, yes, rice - no!!!!
For some reason I thought I'd be able to have 4 ounces of brown rice.
I am gutted......."Stay Wonky":D

7 syns for 100g cooked brown rice, how many syns in the S&S sauce?0
-
9 in the jar and i've already had a couple of syns. I was planning to have around half the jar but as I have a double rum and ginger ale by my side (first drink since starting SW!), I'll have to go rice less.
sigh.........oh well......."Stay Wonky":D

I keep thinking about having a go (im always thinking, never doing).I had a diet plate once I suppose its a similar concept to that, portion control.0 -
I have tried them before and found them good, when I first started I found that I was constantly hungry but this time I have been fine. I am totally full and haven't craved anything that I would need to syn - which is good lol. Zero syns and totally happy, didn't think it was possible lol. I have at least 2 more lined up for this week as my weight loss needs a boost now I am back on track and focussed again. I have a meal out tomorrow but I am hoping to have the roast, failing that it will be steak, but its just one meal, my breakfast is poached eggs on 2 x wm nimble and my dinner is chicken 1/3 and stirfried veg 2/3.0

Yes as Shal says you could have a flexi syn day. Just decide how many syns you are having today and then get back on it tomorrow with around 10 syns for the day and lots of speed foods. Hope your dinner was yummy and you thoroughly enjoyed it, if you are spending syns you want it to be nummy.0 -
to be honest, I didn't enjoy it.
I had some of the chicken in some of the sauce, but the sauce was really 'weak' and chemical tasting, I'd say I had half the syns in it I had 4 ounces (cooked of rice) and I've had 2 double rums with a low cal mixer.
so that's 4.5 + 7 +16 + 1.5 + 2.5.........31.5...........whoops!!!!!
And I have only had 1 b choice today and no a choices.......maybe I'll have some cereal in a minute........."Stay Wonky":D

Cheesecake anyone?
Summer Berry Cheesecake
Preparation time:
Ready in 20 minutes plus chilling
Serves: 8
Syns per serving
4½ Syns on Green
4½ Syns on Original
12 ginger nut biscuits
28g/1oz low fat spread
4 tbsp cold water
2 x 11g sachets powdered gelatine
2 egg whites
511g/1lb 2oz quark
397g/14oz very low fat natural yogurt
finely grated zest of 1 small lemon
2 tbsp artificial sweetener
100g/3½oz strawberries,
hulled and finely chopped
198g/7oz blueberries
mint sprigs, to serve
½ level tsp icing sugar, to dust (optional)
1. Line a 16cm/6½ inch spring form cake tin with baking parchment. Place the biscuits in a clean, strong polythene bag and finely crush, using a rolling pin. Alternatively, crush in a food processor. Melt the spread, add the biscuit crumbs and mix well. Spoon the mixture evenly over the prepared tin,
then chill.
2. Put the water in a heatproof bowl, sprinkle the gelatine over, and leave to soften for a few minutes. Stand the bowl in a larger bowl containing boiling water and stir until the gelatine has dissolved. Leave to cool.
3. Whisk the egg whites until just stiff. Put the quark, yogurt, lemon zest and sweetener in another bowl and stir until smooth. Stir the dissolved gelatine into the quark mix, then fold in the whisked egg whites and strawberries. Pour this filling over the cheesecake base, cover and chill for about 3 hours until set.
4. When ready to serve, carefully release the cheesecake from the tin and arrange the blueberries on top. Serve cut into thin edges, with a mint sprig on the side. Finish with a light dusting of icing sugar if you like.
