    just makes you feel stupid

I must agree with Marshallka hun, you are not stupid, we all been there and yes I agree its maddening:mad: , and we all have our regrets with this highly cost product, but hey, just think now hun I know none of us wanted to be in this position from the start, but you will get your money back and more.;)

I would also advise people too if the case has gone as far as the FOS to deal with I would also recommend for the extra compensation for the stress this has caused, the waiting is one of them through the FOS and we would not be put in this position if these companies didn't rip us off in the first place.
With my last complaint I also requested at least £250 extra on top of everything else due to the stress and inconvenience this had caused and it was awarded too.;)

You are doing fine and fighting your battles now hun, so what I say is
    "what goes round, comes round".;)

Got a claim in with Beneficial Finance, they have till the 2nd October to provide a response (update to follow). Started claim process with Barclaycard, after checking all my accounts found PPI on my card :o - certainly wasn't told or advised when I got the card back in 2003, just signed my name during the application without ticking any boxes.

Did mention I would request details if they declined to deal with the complaint, am I right in thinking I will be able to get a copy of the original application document via a SAR?

Hi there and firstly let me just say good luck with this complaint then hun and keep at them.;)

Yes its true they will supply all they have on you within your account from start to finish but you do have to pay £10 for this (cheque payment) etc.

However, if its just the agreement you require you should be able to request this free of charge, give them a call and ask hun.;)

  • Just been reading the comments about GE over the last few pages. From what the FO told me it's the fact that they can't deal with store cards before 2007 not specifically GE (although most seem to be with them).
GE are refusing me through the FLA despite me having a doctors letter stating my medical condition and the FLA are doing nothing - they have even ignored my last two emails! Seems to be that GE have said no so FLA have decided that's the end of it.
If I get some money back from another claim I will take them to court - I had to with my card charges.

I know people who have put in complaints about PPI on store cards before that date. Pinknico's complaint was about unfair penalty charges on the store card and not about PPI so if its about PPI added I always thought they could deal with it. After all its an "insurance" complaint like any other.

The ombudsman in April 2007 could start to look into complaints about consumer credit transactions since that date.

When you asked the ombudsman did you state to them it was about PPI on a store card??

Here is a good leaflet for other complaints the Ombudsman can look into on consumer credit

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/introduction_consumercredit.pdf

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/ombudsman-news/60/60-ombudsman-focus.htm

Mainly the change here is that the ombudsman can look into complaints of business's that hold a standard consumer credit licence but are not covered by the FSA.

Any insurance sale HAD to be covered by the FSA as this rule came out in January 2005 so if its about PPI then a business had to be authorised.

Wahoo!! Got the first agreement number and start date from First Plus :j

Both letters sent via recorded delivery today :D

Now for the 8 week wait

    Morning all,

Well, we posted the letters on Thursday and today we received our first reply from Loans.co.to say they are in the process of making various enquiries in order that they may respond to our comments in full.

They anticipate they can provide a response within 4 weeks.

One acknowledged, now just Barclays First Plus to reply!

Another good read here about what may be happening October 2008

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/technical_notes/consumer_credit/CCJ-feedback-Dec06.pdf

Annex B sets out the CCJ rules made by the Financial Ombudsman Service and approved by the FSA. These will come into force on 6 April 2007. They will apply to all consumer credit activities except debt administration and the provision of credit information service. The Government intends to extend the Financial Ombudsman Service’s remit to these later, probably from 1 October 2008.
