Pinknico, if you are around i sussed out why they told you about the GE money and 2007 thing. They have dealt with the complaint as a Consumer credit type and this only became under the jurisdiction of the FOS in April, 2007.

The biggest change to the Financial Ombudsman Services system came on April 6, 2007. The FOS can now look at most complaints that involve a consumer credit transaction.

If you do not cancel then most definately !!

My loan was with Nemo personal finance, the loan advance total including ppi was almost £67K....... , its pathetic, and yet even though we cancelled this just missed the cooling period, we remortgaged, but still had to pay that same amount when settled.
And yes was successful after a hard time of 14 months fighting these, with the help of the FOS of course !!!

Poor Laini on here is having the hassle from these now...... and she dealt with First plus too.
Laini won with Barclays Firstplus and got her money no probs.

Oh sorry Di, you are talking about Nemo.

Will look out for pinknico for this hun but now I am wondering if this will be the same for my son then ?

He was a uni student, well just before he started uni after finishing his A levels in the 6th form, and while looking for a prom suit, he went into Burtons and was sucked into buying a burtons store card with added ppi  , this would not have covered him being a student or not working then !!!
He has paid them off now, in fact last month was his last payment, just have not had the chance to deal with his claim yet, but the statement are those of GE Capital bank !!!

pinknico answered before that her claim was for penalty charges for late payments so your son should be ok.
