Just tried TPS again by registering my tel number and it confirms this:
The following number(s) is/are already registered with the TPS.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
When I wanted to extend my overdraft with RBS in 2000, I was told they wouldn't do it unless I took out their loanguard cover, can I reclaim this and if so which section does it come under in the template letter, the one under general mis-selling where it states the policy would assist my credit application or the one where I was told it was compulsory as I could have taken out other insurance(even though I didn't have any)?
Many thanks for your thoughts

Good morning lovely people and hugs for Marshallkea.x:grouphug:
Can anybody clarify where the FOS stand on a policy being added to an account in 2000 without being requested and being cancelled in 2008 when discovered by me what this payment was.( lesson learnt read statements don't just pay amount shown!)
I know it is more than 6 years ago but it was a monthly premium and only discovered 4 months ago.
What do you think?
Hasn't got that far yet they might just admit to this and give me the money I just want to know my options.0 -
Hey there again guys, I've had a letter from lloyds ppi today to say that they won't give my money back as I signed the agreement for ppi and it is clearly stated thats its optional, the letter goes on to say how at Lloyds TSB Ins they are holier than thou and do not believe that their loan sales rep could not have possibly have mis - sold anthing, it just doesn't happen at Lloyds TSB, I however sing a diffrent tune and told them that the sales rep advised me that the loan would go through easier if I had PPI attached to the application.
I have received a copy of the original cca that I signed, the box for ppi is checked for me, there is also another box which I'm not sure the meaning of that has been auto-ticked for me - "Premium advanced as part of loan?"
any help or advice would be appreiciated as I'm about to send this letter
Dear Sir or Madam,
Re: Account number:
.
I am writing in response to your letter dated 12th September 2008, with regards the insurance sold with my loan.
I do not feel your letter has offered a satisfactory justification that my policy was sold fairly, reasonably and within my best interests so I request that you look into my complaint again. If I do not receive a more favorable response within 14 days I shall be taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.
Yours faithfully,
But should I add in a part about them ticking the boxes for me? as I'm sure this isn't best practice? or just send it off and wait for the 14 days so I can refer it to the FO

Hi Mel
I assume this is your first response from these by the looks of your letter you received from these, I had the same, but my letter also said if there is anything further to add that they think we have missed is to let them know where they may reconsider (in their own words), did they mention the FOS in this letter by any chance hun ?
I did write again to them and gave them only 14 days, but still not successful where mine is now with the FOS.
Your letter looks good and this is what they do need to know if they do not uphold your complaint here, so if I were you send it in, in order to receive their final response where they will mention that you would be eligible to complain to the FOS or if you had to wait for the full response for the full 8 weeks the first time round it may be worth complaining to the FOS anyway and tell them this is what you have done.
Tiggrae or one of the others may have better ideas here for you but anyway, Lloyds are not the easiest in my own experience so I am hoping the FOS will resolve my case now.
Good luck!
Di.

you just need a final response - they won't change their mind no matter what you put
Well thats what I have here I think, it does state that I can go to the FO if I don't like their finding so I guess its time to register my first complaint with the Financial Ombudsman! Wish me luck!
thanks for everything

Edit just reading your reply Di cause It wasn't here when I replied to tiggrae initiallyDFD 29/12/10

LV should be particularly cautious when it comes to PPI given their recent fine for mis-selling. I would persist with it and hopefully they'll cave under the fear of another massive fine.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

Glad you have the opportunity to do this, and if I were you make Lloyds aware of this, some may even change their response by knowing this, I have heard of this, as soon as they know you have the FOS involved this could change their tune here.
All the best
Di.

Di, Lloyds are pants! real meanies, but yes actually they did say if I have anything to add they would like to hear, but i'm not sure on how the bank stands on ticking someones boxes on the application form for them to then sign and if its enough for me to get them to reconsider, it defeinatly hasn't been 8 weeks but this looks like a final letter apart from the bit about anything to add to the complaint.DFD 29/12/10
