Thanks for that:D Am suffering all above plus extreme rage. My claim still not settled although upheld by FOS in May:mad:

Fingers crossed may be able to send figures to them today just to help out a bit, no wonder they cannot get their paperwork right. Think they deliberately put these
twits in customer services just to make us want to give up. Will let you know just in case (pigs may fly) they acknowledge their mistake:rotfl:

OOPS did not mean twits at FOS meant Barclays:rotfl:

Hi there, i have had a PPI claim with the Bank of Scotland for what seems like FOREVER!!!

I recieved a letter on 25th July saying that they are 'not at fault etc, etc, but as a gesture of goodwill they will pay out with interest'

The letter said that a further letter would follow with the details.

I called the number on the letter to ask about when the details would follow and the guy told me I would have a settlement within 2 weeks.

It is now almost 6 weeks since the letter and still no response.

I have had a call from the Redress team who calculate how much they owe me, and they guy told me that the loan i had was on their 'old system' and as yet they do not have a calculator in place to work how how much is owed to me.

How long do i give them to give me an answer?

I am really frustrated, as surley i am due what i paid plus the interest?

Please help.

This is a standard fob off letter. I would now get number 2 template sent out. You need a final response (and this does not mention final response in it) before taking this to the FOS if in fact it is within their jurisdiction.

What date was the loan PPI ???

the loan was way back in end january 1999

Hi

I would love some help and advise!

I complained about two loans taken out with LTSB on 17 June 2006- one in 98 and the other in 02.

The 02 matter was settled immediately by way of LTSB acceptance that they could not find sufficient details and so repaid premium in full.

The 98 matter is a nightmare though! They did not pick up on the second complaint within my initial letter of complaint- since then have given 3 different reference numbers and I have had to fax a copy of the Credit Agreement in twice and twice by Recorded delivery- each time they deny receipt! They now accept they have a copy of the Agreeement and have rejected the claim, essentially on the basis that I accepted in the Agreement I had a copy of the t and c's of the Insurance policy (I never saw one), that despite the 'one off' payment I made not having a cooling off period I could have not taken out the loan or cancelled the loan; that as it is ten years ago they can't find details of when the loan ended, whether I claimed or had a rebate of policy as they do not have to keep records past 6 years blah blah. They say final letter and send FOS details.

Should I go back to them with copies of my bank statements showing I paid every month till June 20 02 when I took another loan out to settle the first? (WHY?!) When I paid it off I was told I would not get a refund of the policy as already paid it. Technically I made the complaint within6 years and, in any event, I made it as soon as I became aware of the issues as to being misled. What really annoys me is that the say they could'nt find any info on the other loan which was why they paid out?!!

Has anyone else been fobbed off by them like this? Any tips as to what you did?

Many many thanks in advance
Caterina

lloyds seem to be nightmare to get things sorted,i also took out loan way back in jan,1999 and also had ppi too.i have just received my first letter from them,just going to send my 2nd letter to them.no response from first letter.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Re: Account number: [insert account number]
[If you have not had a response to your first letter use this or delete]
I refer to my letter dated [insert date of first letter] in which I wrote asking for justification that the insurance sold with my [select from loan / credit card / store card] was sold fairly, reasonably and within my best interests. A copy of this letter is enclosed for your information.

To date, I have not received a response from you with regards this matter so I am writing again to request a full refund of the premiums, subsequent interest that I have paid on these premiums and the 8% statutory interest that a court would award. If I have not heard from you within 14 days I shall be taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.

[If your lender denies the mis-selling of your policy use this or delete]
I am writing in response to your letter dated [insert date of letter from your lender], with regards the insurance sold with my [select from loan / credit card / store card]. Yourreference is [insert reference number of letter from your lender].

I do not feel your letter has offered a satisfactory justification that my policy was sold fairly, reasonably and within my best interests so I request that you look into my complaint again. If I do not receive a more favorable response within 14 days I shall be taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.

[If your lender offered a settlement but you do not think that is it enough use this or delete]
I am writing in response to your letter dated [insert date of letter from your lender], with regards the insurance sold with my [select from loan / credit card / store card]. Yourreference is [insert reference number of letter from your lender].

Although you have offered me the sum of [insert amount offered] to cover the mis-selling of my policy, I do not think this amount is enough to cover a refund of the premiums, subsequent interest that I have paid on these premiums and the 8% statutory interest that a court would award, but if you were to increase your offer to [insert amount you would be willing to accept] I would accept and consider the matter closed. If I have not heard from you within 14 days to say if you can offer this amount, I shall be taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman.

Yours faithfully,

Okay folks ?

I have not been ignoring you all, been working on one particular company.

Anyway yesterday Companies House forwarded me some contact details of "BERR", I had emailed them and here is their reply:

(just to also say the links below will not work, you would have to manually do this yourself).

Dear

Thank you for your e-mail enquiry regarding this particular Company.
Unfortunately, BERR are unable to comment on a company's legitimacy. However, there are two routes for you to check if there have been any complaints made against a company.
1. Trading Standards; Phone: 0845 404 0506.
Website: <[URL="blocked::BLOCKED::http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/index.htm"]http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/index.htm[/URL]>
(Please type the postcode of the company in question, in the box provided, to find the contact details for the appropriate local Trading Standards Office)
2. Trade Association Forum;
Tel: +44 (0)20 7395 8238
Fax: +44 (0)20 7395 8178
Email: <[URL="blocked::BLOCKED::mailto:zeph.landers@cbi.org.uk"]mailto:zeph.landers@cbi.org.uk[/URL]>
Website: <[URL="blocked::BLOCKED::http://www.taforum.org.uk/"]http://www.taforum.org.uk/[/URL]>
(Please ask/look for Trade Associations (TAs) for the relevant area of trade. The TAs can advise if the Company is a member and adopting their particular code of conduct - if not, they still may have heard of the Company).
You can also check the BERR's Company Law and Investigations Branch's website: (Which gives details about recent actions against companies. BERR are unable to provide any information about any current investigations or unsuccessful prosecutions). <[URL="blocked::BLOCKED::http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/cib/index.htm"]http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/cib/index.htm[/URL]>
To check a limited company's registered

The one and only "Dizzy Di" :D
