With mine all settled, and the claims won, they sent cheques and I am aware if a policy is still running they reduce the amount owed, but you could always request this back in a cheque payment as far as I know.;)

No problem hunni, its good to hear some good news for a change, and going from my experience as soon as the case is passed over to the adjudicator, the process is a lot quicker.;) The waiting part in the beginning to my knowledge is the longest wait, but your there now, fingers crossed hunni, keep us posted here......I'm getting all excited now.......:j :D .

Awww bless well thank you for all your support and encoragement, from all of you. well im hoping that if they do refund, they can pay it towards some of the loan, but then the ones that i have already paid off, i would like to expect that as a cheque,so we'll see Halifax are calling me back tomorrow,so would love to see what they propose, even though the adjudicator has stated thsi will probably only be interim measures what they suggest or offer, and thats ok.

  • Hi, this is my first question on the forum. I took out 2 loans with Beneficial Finance (Blackburn, Lancs branch) in 2002 and 2003, with PPI - I think the insurance was mis sold. Wrote asking for paperwork on 20th June, then rang on 10th July. I was told they had not received my letter, but the adviser said she will request info from head office which would take aprox 14 days. Rang again on 1st August, spoke to Helen who said the paperwork had been found on 28th July and head office will send it, she also said she will ask head office to fax it to her, then Helen would post to me, as it would get to me quicker.
Rang again on 8th August and spoke to the Manager, Paul Dawson who told me that they had no paperwork at all and I should just write to him saying why I thought policy was mis sold- then he wiill pass it to head office. He would not give me the phone no for head office and all no's I found on web were answered by him? Any ideas what I should do next.

Did you send the letter by recorded delivery orginally??

What did your letter say?? Were you requesting the paperwork for your accounts or just stating that you had been missold the policies?

Are you still paying them? When was the 1st one taken out? and was the 2nd one a 'top up' or a completely separate one?

You need to send the 1st template letter for each of the loans and send it recorded delivery - you can then use royal mail track and trace to confirm when they receive it. They will probably send you a standard fob off letter saying they have done nothing wrong. Then send the 2nd letter asking them to investigate your complain more thoroughly. They have 8 weeks in which to supply you with a final response.

Keep us updated and we will guide you along the way, in the meantime do a search on this thread on beneficial finance and read as much as you can. Everyones aim on here is the same and you'll find plenty of advice and assistance. No question is stupid so don't be afraid to ask! there is a wealth of knowledge and experience on here! good luck and keep us posted
