Just rang the co-op about my so called sar as they have sent me details of my bank charges over the last 6 years and not anything to do with the loans i have had with them at all. They have now said that they will send these details out to me. I asked for a full SAR and that is what i want. I did mention that while waiting for my copy agreements to be sent out to me (took 7 weeks), i was told by a member of their staff that there was no ppi added to any of my loans and that she was looking at the agreements at the time. When i received the agreements the ppi is plain to see on every one of the loans and is on the same agreement stating PPI. Just goes to show you what liars they are.

Checked through my bank charges and it seems i was not charged anything OTT as we never had anything bounce or went over the overdraft limit. We have always paid into their privelege account which costs £8.50 per month for this facility. I wonder if they will cancel this as i am now complaining about something to them.

why do they lie? do they not realise that they will get caught out? It makes them look even worse if you take it to the FOS.

I think the red bit in mine means that as it was started in 2000, they will no longer have any of the paperwork for it, if this is the case, is it more likely that they will pay me it back? any ideas, and where do I go from here? do I write again stating that i want the last 6 years back, i was still paying it up until a couple of months ago.
LTSB PPI - £770 ish for dad
LTSB PPI for dad - £1800 for dad
    Barclays PPI claim for self-£2204
Dads home insurance - reduced by £200 a year "WE DO NOT LIVE IN FLOOD AREA AND I DON'T SEE WHY WE SHOULD PAY FOR THOSE THAT DO - I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR"!

Co-op have done the same thing to me. They have stated that i should have reasonably known i had been hard done to (my words that bit) within 3 years let alone 6. My loan in question was in 2002 (december) and it is within 6 years so i am complaining. I had no idea until now about these single premiums. That is my argument. If they wrote it down for everyone to see, the actual cost including interest, of these policies and then told someone that they could actually go and get it without interest from somewhere else what do you think people would do. They are the crooks.

Hi I have asked a question before about First Response but I really need some help and advice about reclaiming mis-sold PPI.
We took out car finance in Feb 2004 and we were told that we had to take out PPI as we would not get finance.
I have written mis selling standard letter and they have come back and said go away basically. Is there a next step?

    Hi everyone

hang on -grrrrr just burnt my toast
    no news from NEMO
but barclaycard will only give me 120 for my charges not the 588- not putting up with that so they will be getting a letter.
they havent replied about the PPI yet so will update when I get some news.
its been busy on here today will take me a while to catch up and read your posts

    Laini xxx

Hi Laini, chin up about the Barclaycard charges ... I was offered a fraction of the charges, then wrote back to say that wasn't good enough. They coughed up, but applied 8% to the total rather than to each charge. I was happy because they paid the whole amount, without having to go to the FOS.

The PPI applied to my Barclaycard is another matter though - thats been with the FOS for months.
LBM November 2005: approx £32K
    Current debt: approx £12K :T
Getting there one day at a time ;)

Hi, send the 2nd letter template requesting that they investigate your complaint more thoroughly, they have to supply a final response within 8 weeks before you can take it to the FOS.

    ok 1st loan

    £1533.60 for ppi / by 36 repayments is £42.60 x 12 repayments = £511.20
    leaving £1022.40 - loan amount outstanding £6435.60

Not sure whether any of the £1022.40 was transfered to 2nd loan as you only had to pay £6355.17 from 2nd loan to pay off first.

    2nd loan PPI - £1557.72 / 36 = £43.27 per month x 18 = £778.86

Don't know how much you've paid for PPI as part of payments through DMP but on the above £511.20 + £778.86 is £1290.06 and that's without the 8% interest on top, which won't be insubstantial bearing in mind the age of the loans / ppi (to work out the 8% feed the amount of the monthly premium as worked out above, paid for the ppi into the bank charges calculator on the bank charges forum and it'll work out the total of the 8% owed).

Go back to HBOS with your calculation and ask them for a detailed breakdown of how they've worked out the £1188.98

Thanks tiggrae. I'll get a letter off to HBOS tomorrow.

I've forwarded the info on to the FOS, haven't heard anything yet. Will follow up with a phone call tomorrow.

*sigh* back to my assignments now ...

ok I will do that, they told us that the garage guy who sold us car finance was properly financially trained and that PPI is always optional.
They said that we would have needed it as my husband had 3 jobs within 12 months. He did but only because he had a car accident and was off sick. They made us take out joint finance as well because he only worked part time even though I did not work and was a full time student.
