Have you told them that the cover was no use to you as you were not working and so would not cover you?

You can ask FOS if the dates are covered by them by making a phone call. WHen did you put your complaint to FOS??

They were fined by the FSA in 2006 by the looks of things here

yes that's what I read back then and pursued them to cancel and reclaim, but they fobbed me off with the jurisdiction legal jargon and I left it!!

Haven't ordered since from them and have been paying off my balance in bits since...but it bugged me so much the other day when I came across their letters, that i thought....S*d it I will try the Omb man anyway...

You can ring and ask but its a little too soon yet. I would have thought it will be ok as it was payable monthly but you may only be able to claim from 2005 but its better than nothing.

Going to call it a night now and be back tomorrow.

    Night all

I would have thought your claim will be ok as this would be claimable from the date that they came under the FSA being January, 2005.

Not too sure about before that date though. You will have to find out from FOS if they were members of GISC before.
ok, so first thing I'll do is call 2moro and check the dates, I know i took it out on 17th Dec 2004...then ask if they are members of the GISC....Still a little unsure what I'm doing though...

What does the GISC have to do with it??? Sorry if I'm coming across a bit dumb..

Quote from one of their letters..
"Our records show that your policy was sold on 17th Dec 2004.
The FOS, which was set up to help customers with certain complaint, has only had authority over Redcats (Brand) Limited since 14th Jan 2005. Before this date the FOS will only investigate and assist with complaints regarding mis-selling of policies where the company was previously covered by other regulations set in the GISC DRF.
This means that the rules and regulation as they stand today did not cover the selling of your policy at the time you purchased it. As Redcats was not covered by the GISC DRF, We believe this complaint to be outside the jurisdiction of the FOS."
So they are NOT covered by the GISC.......So I have no chance then??!!
    Loophole search please....
