Hey....sorry if this has been asked a million times before....I took out car finance from GE Money in 2004. The guy in the dealership who did the paperwork was a muppet and didnt have a clue. All the paperwork I had to sign had the ppi preticked and there was no way i could have got the car without agreeing to the ppi. I have sent a reclaim letter and had their final response within 6 days!!! They basically told me i dont have a hope and that i should go to FO. Now, I have filled in the form for them and sent it off so will await their response but there were also so many inaccuracies in the letter from GE Money that I responded to their letter. They have held their ground and said that I have to reclaim from the dealership....surely this cant be right as I didnt pay any money to the dealership???

Anyone had experience with car finance with GE money pre 2005 ruling??

Hello new to this and trying to find the right thread to post in!
I have sent letters to both these companys regarding miss sold PPI and partial reclaim due to early repayment. Has anyone had any success with either of these companys?

Tiggrae is right, I remembered reading something about "picture" under receivership..... , annoying this, as I have a similar problem with one of the brokers I used which was Click finance, as they dissolved in 2006, I have been searching information and this company, where this company of Click run as several companies, under the Click group, where the same directors are still active.
I did however write to the director who said he would get back in early August as he was away, this was over 2 weeks ago but had since had a letter reply from the compliance manager to say again they have no reponsibility with the Click I used..... .
Now I have gone back to the lenders of Endeavour to reclaim on the unfair rebate instead, only a few more days and I should hopefully hear.

Not sure if the director of Click will get back on his own account now though. .

Who were the lenders of Picture ?;)

have you sent a SAR? I would
then this would give you who you signed the credit agreement for and who you are paying back including PPI

man, i thought i was pretty clued up...whats a SAR? The credit agreement is definately with GE Money and that is who I am paying the PPI too. They are just saying because the garage were the ones to sold it to me, it is them who will have to answer to whether or not it was mis-sold. Surely that is a discussion between them and the dealership and not me as no money was paid to the dealership and all paperwork is directly for GE Money?

    its a subject access request.
send it to GE Money -they will know you mean business when you send for this.it will have notes on tyour file including telephone calls, letters to and from you and other info like comments they have made - very informative
You are right but neither will take the blame cos they work together they will fob you off.
if its their final response fill in the complaint form on FOS website and send it to the FOS and send a copy to both the dealer ship and GE money I would still send a SAR as well cos you can put in details from it to go on your FOS form.

    heres one I use

    Hi there angleflower.

Right a SAR is a Subject Access Request, you send this in order to receive all the information they have on you, this will include all accounts, transcripts-phone calls, emails, just everything, they have 40 days to comply with this which is deadline.
Isn't it that of GE money taking your payments ? I would of thought it was them.;)
With the SAR send a £10 cheque payment or postal order, post by recorded delivery, you can then check this on the royal mail website (track and trace), they cannot deny receiving this request then.;)

SAR above by our lovely hard working member.

  • After having to wait a whole 70 days for my SAR from HBOS,what do I get? A couple of faxed A4 sheets with a load of figures on it which I can only presume is amounts that I paid and nothing else - no explaination what it is or anything!
Used Lainis template so I did ask for everything..........
Have sent a complaint to ICO and FO as I have had enough of dealing with them, letters are ignored and phone calls 'passed around departments' with no help what so ever.

    Hi angelwillow.
Blimey that was a long wait  , did you also send them a reminder before the 40 days were up ? I'm sure there is a reminder letter to send it you want to, I did with one of mine but luckily mine arrived on the last day of when it should.

Some of my SAR's I have had wads of information, but on one of them I only received about 4 maybe 5 sheets of info, I was annoyed but as this was about a loan in early 2000's I thought that maybe why as it ended early 2000's too.

I have that many SAR's here and some have been a godsend.
Shame your not getting nowhere with the ICO and the FO....... .
I know they are over-run with complaints but some sort of feedback would be something wouldn't it hun ?
