PPI Reclaiming discussion Part II

Hi there
My partner is in the process of reclaiming PPI from Halifax which was mis-sold to him back in '02 (he was self employed).
They have written back stating they are not in the wrong, however as a 'valued customer we are prepared to put you back in the position you would have been in had not taken the insurance' done without admission etc etc.
They then said they will contact him shortly to confirm the exact details of the redress due to him.
Does this mean they will refund him what he's paid already, or should we expect a 'goodwill gesture' of a couple of hundred quid?
Has anyone else had this letter from Halifax, and if so, was it productive? We worked out he's paid over £4k since the loan began which would be excellent to have back along with reduced monthly payments.
Any advice would be very much appreciated!0 -

What amount is the insurance and dates etc?
Someone on here could check that you are not being fleeced by the amount.
Also is the loan paid up now??0 -

It's always worth a try, but do it in a branch if you can cos it's quicker, they also should give you a print out of your complaint there and then
*is on her way to Barclays....* :rotfl:
I didn't realise I could do that, looks like they'll be getting a visit from me and 3 rowdy kids today then!!96 items decluttered so far in 20130 -

What are they playing at ?
Well hun, they don't know you yet, so they had better be on their guard.
What step are you taking from here hunni ? Were these covered by the FSA or so then ?
Wouldn't the Co-op be covered anyway being they are and were a bank ?
I know you hun, you won't give up that easy - your like me and will keep fighting until they finally pay out !:D
You keep on at them hun, I know you will and we don't mind if they want to play ball games do we ?:D :j .

Hi
Sorry to bother you all, as I posted yesterday, I'm looking to reclaim back PPI from barclays.
I've just been reading my statements and its called 'overdraft protection'. Is that what I should be reclaiming?
I really don't remember taking this out with my current account, so I'm not sure what grounds I have for reclaiming. I'm employed with the civil service, so job security was not a problem, nor was sickness pay. However, they have been charging me monthly, on top of the account fee and charges also. (which I am reclaiming too)
I have read the guidelines on here and have got myself confused, I'd be so grateful if someone could help me out.
sorry for being thick!!!96 items decluttered so far in 20130 -

you're not being thick - i didn't realise they'd put it on my overdraft as well. Luckily I was in a position to pay my overdraft off and got them to cancel the overdraft there and the (when I was in the bank complaining rather loudly) Put the complaint in anyway stating that you didn't realise until you saw something on the internet about somebody else complaining, they are all robbing barstewards and the more people that complain the better. I am due a response from them this week, but going from experience I won't get one, so the FOS will have 2 complaints from me for the same bank about not providing a response within 8 weeks. I'm hoping the FOS will see this as Barclays using avaoidance tactics in the hope that i will go away quetly, but i won't. I'll keep everyone updated as and when I hear anything from either Barclays (yeh right) or the FOS.LTSB PPI - £770 ish for dad
LTSB PPI for dad - £1800 for dad
Barclays PPI claim for self-£2204
Dads home insurance - reduced by £200 a year "WE DO NOT LIVE IN FLOOD AREA AND I DON'T SEE WHY WE SHOULD PAY FOR THOSE THAT DO - I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR"!0
