  • Well, I'm no expert but I can drop in a bit of good news.

I have been having a letter a month from the FOS saying they have a high volume of cases, so my case against Halifax is still waiting to be assigned to an adjudicator.

Last letter of this type was received at the beginning of June.

I had a letter this morning to say the FOS have upheld my complaint, and Halifax have to pay back all PPI premiums, plus interest, plus 8%

    :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j

So, hang on in there - it looks like things are starting to move :D I only referred to the FOS at the beginning of April

I'll post (on the success thread) how much when I get confirmation of the figures
LBM November 2005: approx £32K
    Current debt: approx £12K :T
Getting there one day at a time ;)

Well done - hope I get some news soon as I've had 3 'claims' with FO since March.

Nice to hear some good news!
  • Can someone give some advice. I have had a loan from my bank for many years every time it gets near ending the bank ask me in to refinance my account. This means rolling all credit, store card and what is left on my loan into another single loan. They have always charged PPI as a single lump sum. This means as I never complete the payments on the loans I have been paying for PPI I don't need. The problem I have is that in my resent house move I am unable to find the paper work for the previous loans. Can I make a claim without this or would the bank be able to supply me with copies. I would be grateful for any help as the amount I have over paid on PPI would probably pay of the last of the loan I have.

I have had my letter from FOS and it says i have been asigned an adjudicator with the FIRSTPLUS one. This is only about unfair settlement and the wage address and nothing else as i am aware. How long roughly does it take for them to end it from this point.???

Just looked back at Laini's and it was four weeks from there for her. Mine is not the ppi as it outside their jurisdiction so i am told but at least they are looking into something for me. This wage thing is baffling. I bet they will get away with that one too.

I do want to add to my complaint that they are maybe in with a conspiracy to send me on a wild goosechase about who sold the ppi and loan as they have referred to my "broker" as Wilmsow/Freedom (BRKWILM) in all the papers and then told me it was this Bespoke thing. Its misleading me and they did just as much in that respect. It is in fact LYING and if i can prove that then how much more have they lied about.
we got our adjudicator in May
so the wheels turn quickly now the next few weeks the FOS will look at the details and send their recommendations to the company then the company writes back to the FOS with their side of the case and say what they are going to do

ps we just got the cheque this morning hurray:T_party__party__party__party__party__party__party__party_

You could always ask for a SAR to get all the paperwork - it will cost you £10 and you are entitled to it under the Data Protection Act.
    Good luck.

Congratulations! I got my letter yesterday advising me of success with HBOS. I'm over the moon. Similar to yourself, I went to FOS in March and had been getting the monthly updates. Out of the blue, I had two copies of the same letter yesterday. Trust me, I don't mind :D

The support from this site is great, but I am going to cancel the other claim as it has already cost me £210 and now they are asking £200 to be sent in with the allocation questionnaire. It is not the money really but the principle of teaching these people a lesson, and to be honest I felt pretty humiliated in that court room as I knew I was in the right.

I am still a bit mad about it and thinking of horrible ways to get back at them. Think I will send them a Laini's SAR request just to give them a load of hassle.

Got a complaint with the ICO as they wont give me a copy of another loan I had.   . Maybe I should go to the newspapers
are you cancelling the court action on your lombard claim?? when did you take it out ??

    I would say
inform FOS you have received this letter and see i they think you are entitled to more cos it looks like an addmssion they are wrong but trying to pull a fast one in my eyes by just offering a prorata
lets see what Tiggrae says should be your next move
    Laini xx
don't do anything - that way if the FOS don't uphold your claim you can still go back and accept their offer
