I have just checked my statements from capital one and it is definately called payment protection insurance on their statements.
What charges did you have and maybe someone will recognise one. If you list the abbreviations we can look through.

    Hi!

Thanks for that will get onto this now - am sooooooo mad!

I checked with the Royal mail and they confirmed delivery and stated that should they had been unable to deliver it they would have returned it with a sticker stating the reason why. They stated it was delivered and therefore the receiver must have returned it!

They signed for it at 9.50am by a E Dyer on 08.10.08 - must be an employee of Freedom.

They did not state on the letter the reason for returning, but it is unopended so I can only asume Mr Farr is trying to ignore me!

Just to reassure anyone who thinks there is not a lot of successes or their company doesnt seem to payout. Some companys will put a confidential clause in a settlement and you can't discuss the outcome. They dont want everyone to know they give in!

Have you ever called him at the office or Freedom either....

This is not good practice from any of these companies, one being authorised by the FSA and the other holding a CCL.

I have tried, but never get hold of him. So I have only corresponded through emails and various letters.

Its just so annoying when you know that they are only doing this to avoid paying what they owe!

No pinknico, they are not even authorised by the FSA to sell insurance. They are from GIB. Its a long story. SImone took the loan out from FReedom Finance as she thought and now Freedom are saying that they only processed the loan for Bespoke so Bespoke are in GIB and they do not require any authorisation from anyone. They do hold a CCL here in the UK and I think not for much longer if they continue to treat customers like this.

The OFT need lots of complaints about companies like this and the FSA need to do something too.

So is this a final response then that you have now. If it is then you need to get your complaint into the FOS now. You can download a complaint form from here and send it recorded delivery too.

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

Make the complaint for both the loan and the top up

    Thank you very much!
