I know this has probably been asked before but so many posts i wouldnt know where to start looking, but if you dont have an account number and have moved house can you still get information with just your name and address. probably have to give d.o.b. too but is that enough information to get records on any loans?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi
:j Hurrah had success for my mum at last but not without a fight!

After we sent the original letter of complaint, citing that in offering a new rate of 19% they were not complying with the FSA guidance. Barclays replied and quoted the terms and conditions of the original loan where it does state that they "cannot guarantee that the new loan rate will be the same".
I sent another letter back to them stating we were not satisfied they had answered the complaint as there was not mention on FSA guidance in ther reply. We gave them 7 working days to reply and asked them to state if it was thier final reponse and on the 14th (the final day) they replied to my mum saying yes she was right, she could cancel the single premium policy and the new loan rate would be exactly the same as the current and she'll have about £3000 back! Shes waiting for the paperwork at the moment but has had all this in writing from them.

Its great news but i hate the way they try to flick you away in their first reply. It was obvious from the start that they werent acting fairly but they didnt answer that in their first letter. Im glad for my mum that I stuck to my guns. :D
Thanks for your advice it was really helpful.

    Hi hun.

To get just the basic info they sometimes provide free of charge, however they could charge a £1 for the agreement if they wanted too.

For all the information on your account it is then a SAR (Subject access request) which you would have to pay £10 for.

Letter template added in one of my above posts.;)

See what they can supply to you free of charge first hun, and good luck.

    Afternoon all!

Just received my recorded delivery letter back from freedom finance - un opended.

I emailed a copy to Mr Farr stating that I would be sending the original in the post - he has obviously tipped freedom off that I would be sending it and they received it (online confirmation from Royal mail) and then put return to sender on it!

    How rude!

Any ideas on what I should do next, email Iain Farr? contact freedom and ask why? or send letter to GIB (even though he has an email copy?).

    Thanks, Simone

    Hi

I have started taking PPI action against:
    Egg CC
    Capital One CC
    (both now closed)

    Egg Loan (since 2006)
    HSBC Loan (since 2006)

so far so good - however I have experienced the following two problems:

    1) Egg CC have written back to say that they want £10 from me for them to send me my previous CC statements, I had assumed that this was free under the Freedom of Info? If it was the loan I would understand as they'd need to access my transcripts etc... but for previous CC statements.

    2) for capital one CC, they have sent my my statements, however no where can I see any mention of "PPI" in the charges. Could it be called something else on the statements? And if it's not explicitely stated, does this mean I was not charged PPI?

thanks in advance for your help!!

On my Cap 1 cc the PPI was simply called payment protection ins.

So glad for you and your mum. I bet she is so proud of you for this. I think if I remember right this was singlep that quoted all the FSA rules for you here. It won you your money back. Yippeeeee:j

They will want proof of ID and address. eg bank/CC statement, photocopy of driving licence or passport, utility bill.

Are you positive that this was not lost in the post then... I cannot believe that a company would do such a thing. They are in fact authorised by the FSA (FREEDOM FINANCE and BESPOKE hold a CCL here in the UK) now and I would make a complaint about this immediately. Its not right and treating a customer fair here.

ALso contact the OFT about this too. You need to let them all know that they have done this to you. I would suggest you now resend it and see what happens again.

    What actually happened.??

You sent the letter to Freedom House did you. DId you address it to Freedom Finance or Bespoke Finance. I would now send it addressed to the main man at Freedom FInance (you can find his name on the FSA register) and put in it a courtesty letter to Freedom and also a letter to Bespoke and mention that you have made a complaint to the OFT and FSA about not being able to write to this company at this UK address that it states on the OFT register.

Simone, might be worth sending this letter to GIB by recorded although will cost about 5 quid each time.

Here is the person I would address to at Freedom

    http://www.fsa.gov.uk/register/indivBasicDetails.do?area51=true&sid=622111

    Top man I would think.
