The loan is still active but with a dca, the ppi was canceled in 2004(no refund)
I have all the paperwork (with my signature on) but the ppi box is computer ticked.
I went in for the pushy salesman (which he was) + them aready being fined.
Right then okay, write back to them and tell them you are not satisfied with their response to your letter.
(If you have not received the letter from them which states Final decision that is).
Because even if they do state the FOS on this letter they may not have mentioned it was their "final decision", so if that is the case tell them, you believe that you still have rights to take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service, so if they do not give you a favourable response you will not hesitate to take this to them to investigate.
I would also make them aware that the tick on the paperwork is an automatic re-generated tick and not yours, and besides you recall on being pressurised into taking this product out to be accepted for the loan.
The ombudsman would take a dim view on these products anyway, as its a front single product that was added in with your loan, which was not explained to you etc.
Get a letter in anyway hun, and if not successful with these again come back and we can guide you to the next step which would be the FOS.;)
Good luck !

Hi there Marshallka, hope your well hun.;)
The London Gazette is a good site to check for firms going into liquidation I think, and I did not know about this online site myself until you had told me, thanks, and its handy to find out dates etc too.;)

Hi there
They are passing the buck, where on earth did they get that branch from when you did not go anywhere near it ??, not unless they expected you to write to that actual office in Southhampton to complain if there is one there, then why should you write to Southampton ??...... , however check out this link here
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
There is also a telephone number on that link with complaint form links, if you want to contact the FOS first just to see what they have to say before going through the hassle of filling in the form just yet, they will or should confirm if they are able to look at your complaint.;)
Other than that maybe one of the other members here will have other advice for you here, because it seems like to me the loan company are just trying to put you off.
When you fill in the FOS complaint form hun if eligible, remember to send them a copy of all correspondence from the loan company including a copy of the letter that states "final decision".;)
Going back to what you said that they mentioned that you had taken this out with a branch miles away from you - yes add that in too, but I was thinking is that another office that deals with new loans if you know what I mean ?
Still you did not do this and need to add the branch that you did actually take it out with as the FOS firm will tell you to do that anyway - so yes it may back your case too.
Please let us know about this hun that will be cool thanks.

Do you mean that they say you took it out in Southampton and you actually took it out somewhere else? If so it should help you a bit with the FOS as they can't have looked at it properly.DS1 12/10/04
