Myself and Marshallka had added some links on here the other day about the FOS, some useful information of what complaints they deal with and various info, when you have the chance to go through the threads hun check them out, there may be some useful information about timescales, I'm sure I had come across some of them as well.
If your unable to find them let me know as I will add again, other than that if you go on to the FOS website if you have not already done so, they have a search panel box where you can add "case studies" which I found very interesting.
This way you can expand in what complaints you want to check out which may give you some examples of some upheld complaints etc etc.
I normally just add "ppi case studies".;)
Tried to use the thanks button for this but it won't work!

LOL it has worked now that I've posted this!0 -

I have been on the Mortgages thread for a bit today and all the rest of the site. I think the next big claim will be mortgage arrangement fees. Our rate finishes next month so got to get something sorted. Only paying interest now as cannot afford the full amount and then this goes up and also cannot change provider either as these did a BIG wage to loan ratio. We are stuck and to change with them to another deal is £999 or £1499 which is low compared to some of them on their site in which they charge up to £5K arrangement fees. Where do these lenders get off??
How on earth can they justify £5K:mad:
Arrangement fee: £4999 | Early repayment charges - 3.00% until 01.11.09, 2.00% until 01.11.10, 2.00% until 01.11.11 on original 'special rate' advance [full redemption] | Non-refundable valuation fee | CHAPS Fee: £25 | Additional Borrowing - the same as Intelligent Finance's offset variable mortgage rate.0 -
Alistair Darling, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, has issued a stark warning to banks and lenders – to reduce extortionate arrangement fees on mortgage loans and stop ripping consumers off. This comes after a recent report that lenders have been hiking up arrangement fees on mortgages, and that some have even doubled over the past year or two, with others being hiked up more recently.
This was the 7th August, 2008. When will something be done? I don't want to pay this and then them do something about it and lose out or have to go through a claim with the FOS to get them back.0
