Just that it's been 4 weeks now and not even a 'this is how we have calculated things' letter never mind a cheque?
Hiya hun, not certain here to be honest, but maybe a quick call on Monday they will be able to confirm more perhaps, good luck hun.;) xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

They have said to go to the fos if i want but i am a bit confused, will they look as it as the loan is so old/over 6 years old.
Anyone know anything about this thanks.
Hi there hun and sorry to hear about your knock-back with these.
Now I take it what they mean is they were not under jurisdiction covered by GISC, the FSA had taken over from these in Jan 2005, the FOS are able to investigate complaints if the finance company were covered by any of these.
I did think they were covered and am sure someone else who actually used this company can confirm this.
Is this loan still active or settled ?
If this was settled after Jan 2005 there maybe another way you can complain as another option if you think your received an low rebate when the loan was settled at the end, its just another option and I do have one right now in with the FOS about an unfair rebate/settlement as I was in the same situation myself, a company that I had a loan with was not covered when I had taken out my loan but were when I settled my loan, however I don't think this is a very popular complaint but could be tried as a last option.
Also have you still any of the paperwork for this loan ?
If not I would contact them and ask them for copies of these, such as the agreement and a written breakdown.;)
Please post anytime for further guidance here hun.

I purchased the above policy from you in September2000 but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy as having recently looked at the paperwork for my credit card (the original application form sent to me following my recent request for a Consumer Credit Agreement) I now realise that I have been paying for insurance that I did not know I had taken out so could not have been explained to me. On the application form I did not tick the YES box for this protection. The paragraph on the application form also fails to provide full details of what the policy would and would not cover.
Hi there and yes that is fine to do both at the same time.
You could try your luck to see if they can supply anything for you free of charge too hun, a written breakdown and the agreement should be no problem to get hold of, but I also note that this was 8 years ago where they may not be able to supply anything going back that far and only the last 6 years only.
I would however still try to reclaim this back and if you have covered all areas where you feel you were mis sold then get it sent in and I would post by recorded post to keep an eye on the timescales as they have 8 weeks on the complaint letter.
If you still have an active account with these, you can still request for an SAR which as you know will cost you £10 cheque or postal order payment, they have 40 days from the date of your letter to send your your SAR.
Also if you require the template for the SAR please let us know and one of us will be able to supply it for you.;)
All the best and please keep us posted, cheers hun, much appreciated, good luck!

marshallka wrote: »Yeah, this is a normal reply to your first letter. A standard fob off usually and also a stalling method. (It gives them more time to keep your money.)
Just have to wait now and you will receive a final response within the 8 weeks and we will take it from there. It is quite normal.
Hope you win.;)
Hi there Marshallka. Just to let you know that I got another letter saying they were still looking into it then I got a phone call last week and the woman asked me if I wanted the loan I took out in 1999 takin into account as well. So I told her yes I did. She said she was assessing my claim and would send me a letter within a few days with her result.....
Yayyyyyy I AM getting my money... And she even sent me the copy of my loan agreement from 1999.... it said I would get a letter with the amount I would be getting and then it would be paid into my account... I dont even have a clue as to how much I'll get back. But I am so happy that I got a positve decision and dont have to go through all the rigmarole of having to send more letters. I am so glad I did go through with it and want to thank you all on here for all your help and support... I am chuffed to bits. Even though I dont know the amount. And it did say the usual bumph of not admitting liability etc, but that as I am a valued customer etc etc..... ..
I am SO happy..
thanks to you all.....:T :A:beer: :j

They have 40days to comply under the Data Protection Act, but do be nice and allow some time for postage. Which should always be by recorded delivery, so you can prove that they did receive it.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
