Morning :hello:
Am at work, and determined to be more self disciplined and not abuse the facilities. So just the one post until at least lunchtime
((((hugs)))) to all those who need them. Specially thinking of you, Penny-Pincher!! - and hoping you get good or at least not too bad news from your scan today.
((smoky))
The opera last night was well performed but the piece itself was really quite boringA few people from another forum I go on were there, and they're all raving about it, so I'm going to go on there later on and and post an "alternative" opinion
I'm having a night in tonight, thank goodness. I am hoping to be motivated enough to get through lots of housework, not drink any wine, and go to bed at a reasonable hour. It is always so tempting to take to the sofa with repeats of Mock the Week/QI on Dave TV and half a bottle of wine. We shall see! The chores badly need doing, and there are veg in the fridge that won't keep much longer, so must work out what to do with them. The trouble is that after slobbing in front of the TV, the second most enjoyable way of putting off housework is to cook (cos that's the bit I enjoy) so maybe I will have to force myself to save the cooking for tomorrow!
I am waiting for my payslip to come through, payday isn't until the 21st but I'm really interested to see how much it will be this month. On the one hand, I earn enough to be better off from the new taxation structure; on the other, I know my tax code is going to have me paying more tax than I need to (I haven't bothered to write to them and ask for it to be lowered as I have been told several times that my small second income - from my singing - is about to go up, even though this has been on the cards for months and not yet confirmed  If they'd only tell me, I could work out a projection and write to HMRC telling them how much tax I should be paying) so I am hoping that one will balance the other out, and that if I'm owed tax at the end of the current tax year it will be a nice little bonus next spring!
Well I'm rivalling mioliere with the waffling for [STRIKE]Europe[/STRIKE]England (Benthosboy) so I had better be off and get some work done. I have 14 items that have been on my to do list (for work) since Monday, and half are ticked off, but as my boss gets back from holiday tomorrow it would be nice if I could get the majority of the rest sorted today.
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

A quiet morning for me, will do a little baking later as that seems to be going down well with Mr Catz. We are nearly through the allbran fruit cake. Still changing to a wholefood diet, we were almost there anyway.
The organic box has just turned up so I have eggs, soya milk and soya yogurt (for easing the hotflushes) more beetroot:rolleyes: leeks, courgettes, onions (at last) potatoes, oranges, kiwi and bananas so off to seek inspiration recipe wise.
A friend has given me "an evening with Placido Domingo" cd which is beautiful so I am chillin
have as nice a day as you possibly can (((hugs)))

:hello: Shez
:hello: Ivyleaf
((HUGS)) and :hello: to everyone, sorry to miss anyone, ive not been reading the thread properly the last week, and as normal my brain has now gone blank!!!
Nothing much planned today, ive half cleaned the bathroom so need to finish that, the WM has just finished so need to get that hung out, and i have s stew cooking away in the SC for dinner tonight. It was meant to be chicken, but i accidently took out duck (serves me right for not labelling things in my freezer properly) so its a posh stew!! Will just add dumplings later, and thats all done.
Have 2 here at the moment, my normal LO and older one who is on half term (i know ive mentioned before that Plymouth are wonky with their holidays compared to us this year!!) and she is playing with him for me, so hoping to get all the bits done i cant normally do. Might do some baking later with the older one, will be nice to do something together!
Ok, enough drivel, hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning everybody,
Welcome Newbies
Hugs to Smoky and children, PenPin and anyone else in need or want.
Have to take OH to bank in a minute to register for on-line banking...he is rather deaf and asked me to do it on phone, but whoever was at the other end said that he would have to go to branch with ID and have them do it...he has a laser card with this account so can have his own spending money in Oz.
Need to get some fuchsias potted on to-day, bought them as tiny things in B & Q and have already taken cuttings so need to put those in small pots now. Also need to put coat of paint on back and sides of cupboard so that I can rearrange it...and the bedroom clearout is not yet finished.
Have a good day all

Good morning everyone.
Catzine I hope the soya works. I think the holly bush is a good idea.
Lumpy, your kitchen sounds like mine was this morning. 5.30 this morning I was trying to turn it back into something resembling a kitchen. I don't know how 4 people can make so much mess in one short day!
Good luck, pen-pin. ((Smoky.))
Plan for today - so far I've sorted out the kitchen, boiled up a kilo of chickpeas and made some pancakes. I'm going to have a go at the count rostov's bread in a moment then I'm going to stick some potatoes in the oven to have for lunch with beans.
Then off to a friend's for a play with the children and on to the supermarket...can't hold off any longer!
The big news is that I didn't give my little one any milk last night (although the doc advised me against it I went with my gut instinct) and he managed to eat some solid food this morning so fingers crossed we'll be getting back on track with him. He had a blood test for coeliac disease yesterday but my gut feeling is that he's just got too comfortable with his milk after a long period of one virus after another.
Okay, off to try the bread. Will report back on the thread.
Edit: if this bread tastes nice I can sell the breadmaker. That took seconds!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Just a quickie as trying to read back to catch up. Trust you to have a 7 page thread when I was AWOL.
(((hugs))) everyone.
Are the MSE clocks up the creek? sure the times on the thread is an hour slow, as they are 2 hours behind me?
Be back later.

Morning everyone
Bit nippy here this morning but it`s my day off and i`m all snug and warm
My first job was going to be taking the houndies out but they`re both fast asleep so i`ll do that later, i need to see how little oldies leg is when he gets up and tries to walk around, DH said that it seemed much better yesterday so i`ll try and work it out later when he`s had chance to loosen it up after his sleep.
Mioliere - i agree with all that you have been saying about heavy perfume and strong smelling artificial sprays etc, they make me irritated and can leave me short of breath, all those chemicals can`t be good for anyone, i work in a small office some of the time and the smells in there can be really overpowering, i too think that air fresheners should be banned as they are disgusting, if i get a really bad strong chemically smell near me and it`s in an enclosed space it can bring on an asthma attack, i haven`t suffered with this properly since i was small but it scares me that something like this can have an effect so strong  sorry to go on - rant over
Welcome Blueneleh :hello:
I`m going to have another cuppa now and then decide in what order to tackle the hw, i don`t feel like doing any of it but as we will probably be having company tomorrow i`d best get my a*se into gear.
Catch up later
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning everyone,
I had just nearly finished typing out my post when the power went off. It has just came back on. DH & I had a couple of wines in the candlelight so my head is slightly fuzzy.Got most of my chores done that I wanted to get done. Went and saw DGS little cat this arv. He's got a bit of a temp so I hope he's not coming down with another bout of tonsilitis. DGS not the cat.
Mrs Mix
PPen That is way too white to be DHnice bell though.
PP fingers crossed for the brain scan. <hugs>
Catz It's always sad to lose a pet. They are such a big part of our family. xx
celyn Hope the pain eases soon.
TiredMum Welcome back. We missed you.
Well off to have a bit of a surf and then shower. Hope you have a lovely & happy day. Byeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Ha, ha, ha!! And I was going to share motorhome stories with you, too! We had one for two years (only sold it last year) and, funnily enough, 'did' Europe in it! I loved it and was very sad to see it go.
It's so reassuring to know that I'm not the only one fed up with perfumes and airfresheners! I thought I was all alone!
(((Hugs))) to all who are feeling poorly.
Welcome MANCBIRD - hope you like us even if we are slightly off our rockers sometimes!
Well, I have defrosted my freezer (with DH's best hammer and screwdriver, as usual), finished all my chores bar some office work this afternoon, and I am just about to go to the Post Office to post a couple of letters.
The sun is beaming here and it looks like another lovely day like yesterday. Hope the sun is shining for everyone.
I'd better go or Martyn will make some comment about my having waffled for Europe and aiming for the next continent. I'll conquer the world, Martyn, you'll 'hear' me everywhere!
