OS Daily Wed 16th April 08

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 16 april. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning.

I have to be quick as I am off sailing. It's somthing I do once a year and no more. Every year they have the work dinghy sailing championships. I always go for a day out and free pasty. I crew with a good friend of mine who knows everything, so I just do whhat I am told and hang my large rear over the side of the boat for ballast to stop us tipping over. It's a great day out though. Falmouth this year.
I just hope we don't capsize as the water is freezing at the moment. I don't really have the gear for it either. I use my fishing stuff which is ot the best for sailing.
My son if off to Dartmoor for 3 days camping with the college for his A level PE course. Looks like they are in for a rough time with a gale coming on Thursday.
A frost this morning is doing it's best to kill my plants.
No work till saturday afternoon, so looking forward to some R & R

Cheers
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!

  • Morning N9eav and all who follow.

Brr - it's a chilly morning. DD stayed over at the IL's last night, she'll be back later on today when I finish work - then I have 2 days off :j Making a 2 tier wedding anniversary cake, note to self must remember to pop into the florists today and see about getting rose petals - I need about 30 and I'm presuming the florists will be the cheapest way

Anyway better get ready, have a lovely Wednesday :D
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • Hi N9eav and all who cross/follow.

Hope all are well and hugs to those in need.

Well, I've just finished todays traing for my race for life ( read as walked/jog for 15 mins, God I'm so unfit!!!!!)

In the land of os-ness, I've stripped the bed and thats in the wash ( the bedding, not the bed) and I'm going through the freezer fridge and cupbaords in an attempt to find some space, Argh, all the out of date stuff Im gonna find, its not good. I'm also gonna tidy the 'computer corner' of the living room, considering I have a laptop, this is a corner where I stuffed all the wiring and printer stuff, plus the homersapian.

In the land of not os-ness, I'm planning a marathon Mario Kart Wii session later to unlock some stuff before my lazy weekend.

Well, I'd better get a shower and sort out the dishwasher.
When life gives you lemons......Grab a bottle of tequila and call me over!

    Hi,

I haven't posted on the daily thread before but thought I would this morning as I have been reading most of this board throughout the night and thought it would be rude not to. :D
I was on a night shift last night (I am a mental health nurse) and so will be going home in half an hour :j and will be sleeping all day so nothing else planned.
It was a quiet night and so I managed to catch up lots on MSE, lets hope it's the same tonight. ;)

Have a good day all :)

Morning N9eav & all who cross & follow.
I better find my twinset & pearls as I'm off out today, I have a delegates ticket to the Berkshire Federation W.I. Annual Meeting, the speaker is the 'Knicker Lady' she's a vicars wife who talks about the history of underwear & I've long wanted to hear her speak. All I have to pay is my bus fare & I could probably claim that back if I needed to.
I have to give an overview of the meeting, at my next local W.I. meeting. so I must remember to make a few notes about membership numbers etc.
Hugs to Smokey & anyone else in need.
    Welcome Blueneleh

    Welcome to the daily blueneleh

Stressedoutmum, there are lots of rose petals on Ebay, but it depends whether you want real ones ?

Freezing cold here today, just having breakfast then will wrap up to take the dog out.

Work today, was going to have salad for lunch, but think I might change to something warm. Casserole in the slow cooker, with jacket potatoes for dinner.

((( Hugs ))) to Smokey and anyone else who wants one x
