I need someone to sympathise- my dog isn't speaking to me because she's been for her jabs this morning.
Anyone who thinks teenagers are expert sulkers should see her.

Have put two loads of washing outside and lentil soup is in the slow cooker.

Dishwasher is on and have hand washed stuff I used to prepare the soup.

Might go and check price of flour at Sainsbury later as I only got one bag of bread flour at Lidl yesterday.

    Hi Lumpy! :hello:

Might go and lie down for an hour as I have started to get a sore throat and feel tired.

I do not want the flu!!! Might glug some of my elderberry syrup and see if that helps.

    Gentle hug to smoky.

Hope Martyn is feeling a little better.

    Morning all,

Sunny and cold here...love the brightness. WM on , cupboard in dining room emptied of china, china washed...cupboard is built in, no timber back or sides if you know what I mean, mahogany glazed doors, going to paint inside white, maybe shelves too and put stuff back in a more organised fashion...hope it will look better.
Did a bit more in bedroom...emptied 2 boxes of books from under bed and put them on shelves, need to finish cleaning under bed and have a shower before I go for DGS from school at 1pm...better get skates on...

Hugs to Smoky and children, PenPin, Anniestar and anyone else who is feeling carp to-day...one day at a time works for lots of things

    hi purple

I have been working there 5 days a week since feb, its a lovely market town. I met my consultant ( i work for agency) last week he travelled up on the train and he took me out to lunch in 'the cafe'. It is quite posh and I really enjoyed it, (especially, cos it was free) :money:

I haven't been to lewis and copper, is it on the high street???

I think i have to go to a meeting in harrogate soon, as the I am doing a audit and that's where the head office is based!

Oh dear! need to shift my @r$e and get some washing in at least. maybe if I do that ds will hang it up. He's been ill for several days, still off, coughing, but yesterday was the first day he's had sub 100 temperature. Now he's looking after me a bit, making sure I take tablets etc! Awwwm, he's such a sweetie.

Dorry I used to work in the Harrogate branch of The Cafe when I was a student. Lewis and Cooper is on the High Street, very upmarket 'provisions merchant' I suppose you might say. SOme stuff is not 'normal food budget' for us, but there's a section at the back where there is a lot of beans, grains etc, some that are hard to find. There's a cafe upstairs.

PIPKIN - I use old-fashioned language all the time. My boys laugh when I say 'hi-fi' but you should hear them when DH says 'wireless! - they fall about in hysterics! It also took DH ages to realise he could walk around with our new cordless phone. I don't use the term 'w'c' but I do have banisters, not handrails! My friends think I'm old-fashioned because I wear an apron - I don't see why!

I have bannisters, i wear an apron, i listen to the wilace/wireless in the car, my OH and i courted and i use the word "turn" if theres entertainment on in a hotel/pub/club

And im not even 25 yet :o  :D

celyn i've got a jar of ginger in syrup as well havent a clue what to do with it so ill look out what suggestions you get. ive also got 2 tins of black treacle.

my cupboards are full and im determined not to shop again BUT then i run out of the things that always get eaten and the weird stuff gets left:confused: and the new stuff gets put in at the front.

things i need to use up are
6 full boxes of wholewheat lasagne sheets, 2 packs of rice, a pack of broth mix (pluses etc) i must start doing something with them before the weather improves:o .

ive got all the washing out drying, taken the compostables down the the compost bin (and scared a little mouse wittless:rotfl: )two weetabix cakes and a vegan lemon drizzle loaf in the oven, will make a batch of scones once i get back from work this afternoon.

i'll see what the vegan lemon drizzle turns out like and let you know tomorrow (its an adaptation of the recipie from on here)
