OS Daily 15th April 08

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 15 april. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Some one else is allowed to start this....
Pay day today. Not that it means much as I have to budget for a whole month anyway.
What with tank full of oil, car tax etc, there are no treats any more.
Well may be the odd fishing trip..
Last day of work and then 3 off.
Lots to do tonight, Son wants a driving lesson, I have a sailing event tomorrow to get ready for, so not to much time for relaxation.
Must dash...

Morning N9eav and to everyone else. Been up since 5am and i'm currently typing one-handed while i feed Riley!! Not easy!!. Well a bright sunny morning down here, and FROST!! In April!! Can't believe it!! Off to work soon but maybe not for much longer.....

It'd be lovely i think!
Have a good day all, RD.0 -
Morning campers:D
Where is everyone? RHYSDAD, we've got a touch of frost too! I'm off to the gym in a minute so I'll be scraping the car, not normal for April. I don't know what went wrong, but I'm wide awake, when normally I could sleep for Britain:rotfl: (Think your average teenager, and that's me if it wasn't for alarm clocks:o )
Well my great plans for yesterday didn't quite materialise:rolleyes: I did *pop in* here a little too often (:pAussie), but not as much as normal. I will continue my cunning plan when I return from the gym, namely tidying kitchen cupboards, and the under-stairs one:eek: because there's nothing remotely interesting or aaaaaaahey in there:D I cleaned my china cupboards in the kitchen yesterday. Everything has been removed ( washed if it was grimy:o ) and re stacked. I did cull the worst items that haven't been used in ages, and they are boxed for the charity shop. What's the betting next week I'll be saying "I'm know I have........ .....":rotfl:
Will check the end of yesterday's thread when I get back.
(((hugs)))) for any who'd like one.
((Smoky and children)), special thoughts to you.

Just caught up with yesterday's thread. Oh smoky, I'm so sorry. One day at a time. I know we're all impressed with how well you've coped, but that doesn't mean you're not allowed to not cope iyswim. The black days will go in time, but take time to be kind to yourself now.:kisses3:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Morning N9eav & Rhysdad, and all to follow.... (edit - & churchmouse & lynsey who sneaked in while I typed!)
Stop getting up so early then N9eav!!! lol!!! Rhysdad - sounds like a sort of serene picture....
Looks beautiful out the window (for now....) but yesterday there was a big rumble of thunder & a flash of lightning in the afternoon & all the electrics went off all over town apparently!! That was it though, they came back 2 mins later & no more thunder?!
Made banana bread & lemon drizzle traybake yesterday, but just thinking I really need to get my act together to shift some weight over the next few months... don't wanna be fat & 40, lol.... But with baking & breadmaking it ain't easy....
Ground looks a litle frosty out, but will get washing hung out and make some soup for lunch as got a friend & her daughter coming over.
Hester - I spotted your post on the benefits board & noticed a reply from someone that was quite aggressive - but any reply I've ever seen from him on any board seems to be in that tone.... I think all you can do is be persistent in keep reporting it & good idea writing to the MP.
Belated birthday greetings to anyone from yesterday, or who is today....
(((((hugs to those in need, especially Smokey & Martyn)))))) Martyn, hope you managed to sort things with your friend?
Am sure there is more but I can never remember... Have a good day all.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -

Morning N9eav, Rhysdad & everyone else.
Sorry to hear you are down Smokey.
My exhaust is being fixed on Friday, thank heaven for my baby DS (he's 21 & an apprentice mechanic).
Katy rang last night to see if she'd received any post of phonecalls about her job applications, at least she rang early at 8:30.
Rhysdad, what's a CRM250R? Or am I just being thick as usual.
Squiggly, yes I noticed the aggressive posts, like I said on there if I was bitter I'd use my knowledge to get money for me.
I'm being a lady wot lunches today, going to meet a friend & taking her some books.
I sold one of the books I listed on Amazon, woo hoo.
At least the trains are running today, so I only had to take hubby to the local station.
Thats enough waffle from me, I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning All
Kyle - sounds similar to my mil, she pretends to be interested in our children but all she cares about is her DS (my OH). Its their loss and also its shown me how not to be a mother ifywim.
Sunny and frosty here today also, DS is back at school and when I wake him soon I now he will be moaning big time.
We had a good day out yesterday but I felt sick last night and still feel a little icky this morning.
Today have got errands to run. Need to pop into one town to get some pe shorts for dd and if I need to do banking I need to go to another town. Will check online banking in a mo to see. Have some ironing to do but that is last on the list.
Will probably be a quick tea of egg and chips tonight as DS has footie training.
Have a great day all.

Howdy folks,
Just been doing the usual sort of things today that I usually do. Had visitors this morning & DH arrived home around 1pm. He wanted me to give him a hand doing a few things on his laptop and the afternoon has just slipped by. Hope to do the house out throughly tomorrow. OS bought a kitten on the weekend. They've called him Diago or something like that. I'm going down for a looky see tomorrow arv after DGS sleep.
Smoky Sorry to hear about your weekend. <hugs>
kyle report back to tell us what the hoover was like.
MrsMix
CM Glad to see you got some work done.
Well off to make an Onion & Tomato Flan. DH has just picked the tomatoes fresh from the garden. I'll also toss in some fresh basil. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning Guys!
DD & OH off in to London today to take in some of the sites (free ones:D )...Im not having a very good day, so no way I can make it, but have a friend coming over abit later to make sure im ok.
WM has been on and needs emptying. DW needs to be emptied too. Whole house is generally tidy and orderly and the toilet has been cleaned. Will try and put another load on whilst they are out.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone. Lovely and sunny here this morning - will it last, I wonder? Still, washing is already on the line - having turned out my kitchen and spring-cleaned it on Saturday, I found loads of micro-fibre cloths so they've all been washed and look very pretty hanging on the line!
SMOKY - read last night's post. I so wish I could be there to hold your hand. I know everything is still raw for you but it might help to keep Eric's coat. I still have one of my Dad's jumpers; it was his favourite Aran that my Mum made for him and I'm so glad I've kept it. I find it very comforting even after nearly 40 years. Things will get less difficult to bear. It is still so recent so you are bound to have all sorts of emotions. We're all here for you. (((Hugs))) to you and the LOs.
Well, I've put the BM and cleared up the breakfast things; I'm going to have a shower in a minute then do a few chores, bake some cakes and visit the gym; I've not been for over a week! I also have to pop down to the village so I may visit the charity shop!
Martyn - glad you are posting again. You went very quiet. Hope you have a good day.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
I only read yesterday's posts quickly so I hope I haven't missed anything out. (((Hugs))) to all in need and will pop in later.
