Talked to my mum to say I couldn't go because of flu... she is bereft...her BM has packed up. Dunno what sort it is, but it seems she can get the same one again from Argos, which she is pleased about.[SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Morning all
Actually, my dad told me the other day that I was old fashioned - I've had some adaptions made to make getting round the house easier, one of which was extra banisters on each of the stairs. Apparently, no one says banisters any more - it's hand rails! So, I've had extra hand rails fitted :rotfl:
Pipkin xxxx
I've had the same experience. I work in a library in a prison for young offenders and some of them sit there rapping and if it gets too out of hand I tell them to quieten down its a flaming library not a disco and the all think its hilarious that i say the word 'disco'. Must admit I didnt realise how old I sounded the first time I said it but its water off a duck's back now!!0 -
morning all

bright and beautiful here, no washing to do though, DD and I are off to local town today, she is going to meet a mate for a couple of hours and I will wander around the shops, lots of good charity shops.
Cold pork for tea with mash and peas / pickle. Will have a quick tidy through this morning, and do potatoes for tonight. OH came home from work yesterday with 3 dvd's so will try to watch one this afternoon.
Back to w**k tomorrow after 10 days off, not looking forward to it, but needs must and all that.
Hello to Lumpy :T its good here.
Hugs to all those who are feeling under the weather xx
Smokey hugs to you all xx0 -
Morning guys :j
Slipped for a few days and haven't been posting sorry
but back again now. Been busy with one thing and another, so haven't had the chance to post.
Finally put my hand in my pocket at the weekend and paid for new tyres on the car just over £200  I reluctantly handed over my debit card, which he had to prise from my hand lol Now just got to service the car, then thats it's for now
Attempted something new yesterday called Peer Education. It's where member of the young mums group I go to, go out to schools / youth groups / training centres for young people, and talk about being a young parent, in hope it lets kids know it's difficult being a young parent. I've been asked to do it before, but always declined as I'm not too good talking in front of groups of people, but yesterday decided I would give it a go as it was only for a group of about 4-5 people at a training centre.
It went well, eventhough the group of kids were all boys who didn't really want to talk about babies, sex etc lol
Counting down the days till we go to Butlins. We go every year and around this time, it's all I talk about :rotfl: I'm worse then the kids!! lol (I make out we go there for the kids, but it's really for me! lol) 20 days to go, and i've already packed most of the stuff, can you tell I'm eager to go? :rotfl:
Today I gonna wash my car, clean my bedroom, and any other bits and bobs that need doing round the house.
Dinner is Lemon chicken, spring rolls and rice
Bye for now, hugs to all

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. ((Hugs for smoky))
 lumpy (I love your avatar btw - it's so cool!) I was horrified the last time I listed everything that was in the cupboard, I could have cooked for an army (well, if they were prepared for store cupboard suprise!). And every time I do it I find properly random stuff I can't remember buying. Any ideas what to do with a jar of ginger in syrup, a kilo of honey, two tins of condensed milk and several packets of German blancmange type stuff (it's labelled "pudding" and it tastes of baby food)?
I didn't sleep well at all, I've done something to my neck and it really stings. I was naughty and skipped the group meeting this morning, but I had to go to them bank and I'm out less time if I go in the morning. OH's stbex-wife pulled out of the mediation appointment that was schelduled for this week. He's really fed up now as there is nothing he can do to make her come to discuss things. I think it's really sad, it's in both their interest for it not to go to court, but it will reflect really badly on her if she's refusing to attend discussions beforehand.
I find it really hard to watch people setting themselves up for more pain and stress when it could be prevented, but I can't do anything to help.
My house guests pleasently suprised me by doing a shed-load of food shopping for us - on the basis that they were expecting to have to pay for accomodation (which is pretty horrendous here) and we've saved them that, so the least they could do is contribute to the household running costs. I thought it was so sweet of them, but it did make me giggle as my house is now full of beer, coke and pizza :rotfl: I don't know how they carried it home! And they bought me the second series of Father Ted as a present, which was sweet of them. I might try watching it this evening, but I think it might be struggle for them even with the subtitles as it's a little on the surreal side and the voices are heavily accented. Saying that, they did spend yesterday watching Monty Python and had a list of questions for me when I got home (things like asking for definitions of words like "twit").
Enjoy your opera Rzl, let us know what it was like! I used to go to Holland park a lot when I was a student as I didn't live that far away. We always used to get the cheap seats on the end of the rows and they were always fine. Haven't been for a few years now since I moved out of London, but I might treat myself.
I don't think I've ever been "down 'wiv da kids" I used to say things like that when I was teaching and get laughed at. I remember several of my students trying to teach me slang, then realising I really don't have the voice for it - endless amusement.
Have agood day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
