someone said earlier how they made an error like this anyway. the true price of the tv is £349.99 so how did they get 0.49 out of that  I could understand if the price mistake was £49.99 (which would of still been a bargain) but for the programmer to get it all completely wrong is just stupid. Either it was his last day, or he had just been sacked!!! If not he might be now!!

This is an interesting one... a trawl through Google on this item reveals that on Sunday 20th August the price was 349. £ .99*

My guess is that the system then only recognised the £.99* part of the price and when it tried to take off 50 quid (which should have brought the updated price to £299.99) it came up with £.49* using a kind of fuzzy logic.

    It was funny anyway!

Just think of the poor person having to contact us all to cancel. Hopefully a few might slip through but I don't hold out much hope.

Me neither! But at least we can all say, "I was there". This one will go down in history, like the Hoover free flights fiasco. I'm sure others can think of more bloomers like this.

Glad we're all in it together ;)

The money has gone out of my account... therefore they have surely entered into an agreement to supply for that price. That's the difference between this case and the one in '99, no actual money was debited in '99. Should make for some interesting tuesday reading.
