I suppose if you want to be sure about your contract phone it's probably best to just call their customer service department and check.0 -
what an idiot spoke to a guy on ornage and explained have a contract phone etc and wanted to keep the number and sim obviously and wanted to register the 1000 text sim and get different number, he was hard to understand etc and now when I place my contract sim in my phone it is now saying inactive sim!!!! what an idiot0

I have eventually got the phones sorted but I have no free texts on my new sim card I tried to explain to the guy whilst he was activating it and he said you need to credit £30 etc I said I know people who have had 1000 credited and he said it may take 72 hourss but with him messing up my phone I dont think he has done it right anyway, what should I do0

This sounds like a really messy area of confusion. If we are having to pay to receive or use the free texts then it is not the offer as described. It could be the sales assistants misinforming customers which happens surprisingly frequently. Martin, please help!0

I registered mine as per the 1st post, using the automated number.
Note that you have to wait up to 14 days for the free texts. In the absence of any credit or free texts, I assume that's why I can't text the number to get the £1/£5 credit. I set up my online account and it shows a balance of 1p. Hopefully that means I've got enough credit to use the free texts assuming they eventually get awarded!
We'll see!0 -
1. You have to wait 14 days for the free texts to kick in, so if you want to use the sim, you have to either wait 2 weeks or top up to use within the fortnight.
2. When registering your sim, the Dolphin package is what you want to be registering if you want more free texts over the forthcoming months. £10 top up per month = 300 free texts, £20 = 600 free texts and it gets more the higher you go.
3. Just text the 60040 as registered yesterday and won £1 credit to be added to my phone in 72 hoursBetter than nowt!

Your balance should be £1 if you've registered. The 60040 credit is another bonus. It worked for me a moment ago, so maybe give it another go?
Dial 453 and it should tell you that you have 1p plus £1 registration credit to be used within 1 month of registration
EDIT: 60040 costs 10p per text, so I actually gained 90p!0 -
