  • As some people have been given conflicting information about the free texts when they registered their sim card, I've asked Orange's press office to let me know what anyone should do if the text messages haven't been credited after 14 days. I'll post the response when I receive it.

Your balance should be £1 if you've registered. The 60040 credit is another bonus. It worked for me a moment ago, so maybe give it another go? :)

Dial 453 and it should tell you that you have 1p plus £1 registration credit to be used within 1 month of registration

EDIT: 60040 costs 10p per text, so I actually gained 90p!

    No £1 for me!

Not impressed by Orange at all, unlike other networks you have to jump through hoops when you get a new sim. Was considering changing network but it won't be to Orange if I do. My own experience and the confusion on this thread guarantee that. Thanks for everyone who's tried to help. I'll keep an eye out for the texts and the mythical £1 but won't hold my breath.

Everyone is given 1p credit and £1 seperate bonus credit or something they call it.

It wont say £1 when you ring up to check your balance, you have to hold on and go through another option.
Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time
