It wont say £1 when you ring up to check your balance, you have to hold on and go through another option.

Not impressed by Orange at all, unlike other networks you have to jump through hoops when you get a new sim. Was considering changing network but it won't be to Orange if I do. My own experience and the confusion on this thread guarantee that. Thanks for everyone who's tried to help. I'll keep an eye out for the texts and the mythical £1 but won't hold my breath.
Well, after my last post saying I text the 60040 and the Orange reply saying £1 will be credited within 72 hours......nothing
I do agree with you about the Orange thing through. I've never had to go through so much when buying a phone just to get it up and running!0 -

me thinks orange have made huuuge mistake !

i have an 02 sim, i top up on same date every month £10 and get 500mins to any landing or 02 number, then i have a bolt on coming on the day after which gives me 1000 mins or texts to 10 02 numbers, so for £10 top up every month i get 1500 minutes and i am still left with £5.00 credit after my bolt on charge is taken off,
hope this helps

When I register it asks me whether I wish to set up a new mobile number.
What are the implications of using my original Orange mobile number for the new sim card. Will my old sim card still be useable? I prefer to keep the old sim operational since I have got all my phone numbers on this and no need to keep totting up being on PAYG Direct Debit. Just want the new SIM for texts.0 -
i also have been having dificulty getting my "1000 free texts"-i emailed customer services directly and they replied saying i needed to take a voucher to orange shop-although i ordered my sim from www.orange.co.uk/metro2freesim after reading advertisement(no voucher) in metro free paper.registration must be done by april 26th, which i registered my sims on 23rd april.Orange shop said no such voucher i need to call 450 from phone o simply ask them.no luck0

Is that right? I didn't know there was a deadline for registering. I haven't registered my SIM yet, have been reading this thread and was waiting to see whether it was worth bothering (i sent off for the SIM for my boyfriend, and he needs to keep the same number). Am I too late?0
