Don't forget you would get single person allownace on the council tax. I think it reduces it by 25% but not sure on that.

It looks like you would be a lot better off looking at those figures.

    £726 - to include paying rent/council tax.

If i took away what i was entitled to once rent/council tax were taken away ill be left with £440.40 for water, tv license, top up for council tax, food, gas, electric and ntl which is still do able. Id still be left with about £140 as far as i can see

He is. Can hear him banging about in the bedroom. Ive conveniently let the boys play football in the living room which is giving them great enjoyment if you could hear the laughing and the dog is barking like a lunatic in the hallway (he'd only pop the ball if he was in) as i know the tenent upstairs stayed out last night and im not going to stop them.

  • I agree with PinkPig & from your OS posts you wouldn't have a problem with your food/budgeting either - in fact you might find you were a little better off?? :)

At least if he's asleep at the moment he's not hassling you... means you can quietly make plans & gather information. Talking of breakfasts I must go & find something, my tummy is loudly rumbling! Will check in later to see how you are doing.
    xx

Just saw you'd posted he was up - made me laugh about the boys playing football and the dog barking madly, lol!

No, definitely not! Get the TV turned up, bang a few doors. Start thinking about YOU.

    Which council are you with?

Won't they do something about the mould, is your flat damp?

In RCT The housing stock has been transfered to a housing association and they have been improving properties left right and centre.

In any case all social housing in Wales has to be put to a certain standard within the next few years.

I would go to the council and say that since they were so quick to put your OH onto the tenancy then now that things have gone bad you need rehousing because your situation is unbearble

Sammy - I've sat here reading this thread, plus the other 3 threads you've started and to be honest, whilst everyone else can give you the friendly hugs and support, I'm afraid you need a dose of reality.

You know your boyfriend is a waster, he spend money, cannot be trusted and is completely out of order, (and I'm a bloke myself), yet we have thread after thread about him. We can support you all you need and want, but at the end of the day, we're here in our houses and you're there with that idiot. We cannot get rid of him for you - it's up to you. We can tell you what needs to be done, but you have to carry it out, you have to talk to him and tell him what you want and need and what happens if he doesn't do what you need. No more idle threats, no more discussing it on and on with us - either do something, or accept he's the way he is and put up with it. We're all on your side and we all think you can do miles better, but at the end of the day, it's up to you. He doesn't take responsibility, but you need to take it once and for all.You need to force a decision - at the moment you are in limbo - but make a choice one way or the other.

Totally agree with kiddy guy. I have only one question for Sammy and it is this - would you deliberately hurt, injure or damage the people you love or, like most mothers, would you do absolutely everything in your power to avoid hurting them?

When you have answered that question, then ask yourself if your boyfriend is doing everything in his power to avoid hurting or damaging you, your son and your lives together. If your answer, as I expect, is 'no, he isn't' then you will have an accurate gauge of how much he loves you. In short, I don't believe that he does since almost nobody with a half decent brain, heart and sense of honour would behave like this.

You may say to yourself that you love him but deep down, is it the case that you would rather have him than be alone? Fear of being alone in a troubled world is normal but I can assure you that there are millions of decent men out there who would give their right arm to have a good woman like you in their life.

When all is said and done, this man is not just being reckless, immature, selfish or any of those hundreds of other words that have been used so far in this thread. He is being cruel ... and now it's up to you how you deal with it. Good luck.
