Write a statement that your collegue witnessed you put all the relevant pages into the envelope and seal it. Then fax/email that over to them? Don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a try.

I'd read this thread before I sent mine in and sent a witness statement with all my documents. I've pasted it below for you, the xxxxx are my personal info.

    I ................................................

can confirm that I have witnessed the following pages being put inside and sealed into this Special Delivery envelope (xxxxxxxxxxxxx): Covering letter from Mrs x, Completed Cashback Claim Form, Vodafone email, Phoneboxdirect email and pages 1-4 and 18 of Vodafone bill xxxxxxxxxxx, order number xxxxxx.

I do solemnly swear that the above statement is true.

    Signed................................................................................................................

    Date.......................................................................

He also wrote his address on it.

Don't know how it would hold up in court, but every little helps. I also took photos of all the paperwork, plus the envelope sealed.

Hope that helps and Good Luck

DO you send all pages of your bills. the t&c just says send page that shows summary. for eg, i receive 7 page bill with page1 with all my summary and duration charges, pages 2 - 7 are just itemised.

i send just page1, isnt that correct according to their t&c?
  • Hi,
Yes I do need to send page 2 as it shows the tariff.

I received a letter yesterdate from Mobile Media Systems (dated 6th) which said I hadn't sent the second page of my bill (4th Claim). I know I did because I made that mistake on the first claim and lost £10. I even asked a colleauge to check it before I sealed the envelope. I file all my bills and there are two photocopies where the bills should be - which confirms I sent them.
I rang up and they said that they definately hadn't received them, and that I had until 5.00pm tonight to get the original there. I rang O2, but they said it would take 3-5 days to send out a duplicate.
How can I (or anyone) prove that I sent both copies?? I can prove that they received the letter, but nothing about its contents. Does anyone have any idea what I can do now - it looks like I'm going to lose £168.. Grrrr

If you have a quick read back of this thread, and the coolnewmobile (same company, different name) one, you will see that this is PBD and CNM latest nasty little scam

As there is no way you will be able to get them a copy of the bill by 5pm tonight, I would just write a letter giving them 7 days to 'find' the missing sheet and process your claim or you will be taking them to the small claims court. Make sure you send this letter by recorded mail.

I am sure any Judge would agree it is rather strange that so many people would have 'forgotten' all of a sudden to include the necessary pages of their bill to claim cashback.

It will cost £30 to register a claim at moneyclaim online, but in my opinion it is well worth it... we cant let the sneaky lowlifes get away with this!

Oh, you should also register what has happened with consumer direct so the full extent of the scam can be pieced together!

  • Hi,
I am with O2, and you need the second page to show the tarriff.
Thanks to everyone for the advice.
I shall do what you say ( also see a thread on http://www.moneysupermarket.com/community/forums/t/cool-new-mobile-mobile-affiliates-6737.aspx?PageIndex=3c for more on this scam)
The more people we involve the better.
  • Sent my last bill (April) to Phoneboxdirect and they denied to have recieved it. Sent another copy using Special Delivery and found it was diverted to a new POBox. They did set up Post Diversion Service! On the 10 of July, an email was sent to me saying"Everything is in order" and claim has been authorized. However, 16 days later, another e-mail was sent to ask for the March bill, which is not required according to their conditions. As "3" has combined the March and April bill into one, I could not provide the March bill. I pointed out that the April bill showed it was a combined bill and also showed that I had changed to a new tariff after the 12 month contract. Then, they declared my claim was void as the bill did not provide the tariff and I had changed the tariff. I explained the bill to them again and again that the April bill was a combined bill and it clearly showed that I only changed the tariff after the contract had finished. They just refused to accept the explanation and said the claim was over a month now. But it was not my fault. They did not process the claim for several months and then blamed me. What kind of logics is it? Now I am going to send all the documents to their Customer Relations. I doubt they are going to respond. I may have to go to the Trading Standards Office and media, or even the Small Claims Court. It is not a matter of money now, but a matter of principle. We cannot just let them get away with it.
A colleague of mine lost her claim as they also said they did not receive her claim and blamed the Royal Mail. Maybe we should make a complaint to Royal Mail to find out why they have lost so many letters for this company.
  • I am also another vicitm of "missing one page". They received my first invoice bill dated May 07, i only sent the first page, like what i always did in the past with Dial a phone (Vodafone). This is the first time i am with T mobile, so i was not aware that tariff information was on the 2nd page. They wrote to me asking me to submit the 2nd part of invoice, the letter was dated 29th June, which was the day Royal Mail strike, i received it the following mid week, and the letter stated that they had to receive my 2nd page BY 9TH JULY.. which was impossible.

I am keen to pursue this as this involved 420 pounds, cost an air ticket to the far east !!!! I am so angry, can anyone share their stroppy letter? I am keen to escalate my issue if they do not respond to me or resolve in paying me

    Hi,
another victim of the PBD information missing scam. we sent in the same details as always for the fourth claim (our of 5) in july. one came back as a cheque and the other as an 'information missing'.

i double checked and i emailed them the scans i took showing exactly the same pages as usual and asked them to recheck.

they replied the next day saying they had rechecked and not all the details were there (address, name, tariff, mobile number). they definitely were in there as they were exactly the same as normal, and one of the envelopes was awarded cash back.

could anyone tell us the results of their processes? i will do as follows:
    1. phone them tomorrow
    2. send a recorded letter explaining the details and saying what i will do
    3. go to small claims

they owe me just over £200 for this phone remaining out of 480. the other phone has paid £300 out of £360 i believe. perhaps we should form a group of complainants? i will check out this other cool mobiles forum that has been mentioned earlier too.
