Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 10th April 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone. :hello:
Sorry for nicking your top spot N9Eav.
I decided to get up extra early to catch up on some office work I've got behind with since the girls are at home.
All done now so I feel much better.
Yesterday was spent in the garden again and the veg patch is underway for another year. I have managed to cat and bird proof it as well.
Took the girls for a walk on the beach and at the forest yesterday which was lovely and today they're off to a friend's for the afternoon and tea.
I will make some muffins for them to take and then have a few hours in the office while they're gone.
Tea will be stew in th SC with crusty bread.
Big Hugs to smoky. You're doing so well and I'm delighted about the house. xx
Take care everyone else and have a lovely day.
Haribo x
Edited to add....Where are you Penny Penguin???

I'm here  No, I'm not, but that's where I'd like to be atmHave you missed me
Off to w*** today, but loads of OS stuff going down. I'm knitting a bag for DD (please don't ask, it's a nightmare), and a hat for me and one for a friend at w***. I'm then crocheting a variety of flowers to decorate them with :T
It's our choir concert on Saturday, and I have 12 for supper. I've had my recipe books out, as I need to prepare supper on Friday and Saturday morning, and leave it so that DH and the Small Penguins can serve up, as I have rehearsals all afternoon on Saturday, and will only be back briefly to wash and eat. I'm making baked veggie risotto and 2 veggie quiches. Any ideas for easy puddings?
Off to do the ironing before the Small ones wake.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Morning Haribo, Arkonite Babe and Pen Pen
Another day in decorating hell  Still it's all prepared, primed and the ceiling and coving has been done - just the colours to go on the wall now, and then some glossing :j
Made a loaf last night - so at least I can have some lunch todayTea tonight will be tacos. Desperately need to put some washing on - DD went to bed in one of DH's t-shirts last night
Anyway have a great day everyone (((((hugs)))))Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Sorry for nicking your top spot N9Eav.
(Hey it's not my spot, just doing my duty whne it needs to be done)
Morning. I am pooped. I finished a very busy shift and got to bed at 1am. Could not sleep thinking about some of the work jobs, then the missus had a funny turnif you know what I mean....
Nevertheless I always wake up early no matter what time I go to bed. Kids packed lunch to do, some more fencing and then off to work at 1pm.
Weather looks boring out there, hope it stays dry for the morning anyway. Need coffee!

Morning all! PENPEN - Just where I'd like to be! What a lovely picture.
SMOKY - so good to hear from you last night. I'm so glad the pressure about the house has been lifted. Lots of love to you and the LOs.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
Well, today I have a small piece of yellow-stickered topside to roast so I'm really looking forward to that. I should have saved it for a Sunday roast but I forgot to put it in the freezer and it needs to be eaten today. Pudding is rice pud for DH - not for me, revolting stuff if you ask me - so I shall have a yoghurt or something.
I have to take a trip to the post office and also to the shop to buy some milk. There's only the two of us in the house now that both boys have their own homes and we seem to get through the same amount of milk as when they were both still at home. DH is a real teapot so I suppose that's where a lot of it goes!
I have some office work to do today so I will try and get that done this morning as well as some ironing. Is it me or does everyone imagine they'll get far more done than they actually do? I must stop making such ambitious lists because it makes me cross when I can't get it all done. I need 30 hour days in 8 day weeks, really!
Well, i'm off for a shower so will see you all later.

Morning all
Congratulations to r.mac on exam pass.
Hugs to Smokey, nice to see you posting.
Bit of a bad night last night, sleepwise, thanks to Katy & I was up just after 5 & have dropped hubby at the station, if anyone sees a grumpy man on a train carrying a 6ft level, that my hubby!
The good news is that Katy has finally gone away, only for a few days, but better than nothing. True to form she was incapable of going away without causing chaos, but at least we have a couple of days peace.
Plans for today include running round the house naked just because I can, no I'm only joking it's far too cold & anyway I might frighten the fish.
Real plans for today include trying for the third time to join the local writers circle, they keep ignoring my email applications, maybe they have already heard about me. Beef casserole for tea, 2 items of ironong to do, house is still fairly tidy, so I may start knitting a couple of preemie bodywarmers.
I hope everyone has a good day, Martyn, don't start knitting untl you feel better, I'd hate to be responsible for you piercing some part of your anatomy.
Hugs Hester

Morning
Bright here, but frosty again, and looking at the weather, we may get some rain laterHaribo, it sounds lovely where you live, I would love to live near the coast.
(( hugs )) to Smokey, I haven't caught up on your news, but sounds like you might have had some good news x
Arkonite, glad I'm not the only one with no idea what to do for dinner, I'll go and rummage in the freezer later.
Some pack and wrap to do for Ebay, and wilol do some listing later. I have 32 items listed, but only have bids on 6, but if everyone watching bids, then most of them will sell.
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning all
(((smokey))) good to hear from you & pleased things are slightly less pressured - you can make a decision about whether you want to stay or not in your own time rather than being forced into it now.
((((martyn)))) - hope you're doing ok as wellHester - you don't want to know the mental pictures I now have..!!!
((((everyone else)))) as well!! Hope those grumpy OH's are a bit less so as the week goes on too?
Today definitely making the banana bread I didn't have time for / had no eggs for yesterday - picked up some fresh eggs in a farm shop on the way to Bognor yesterday & was all pleasedMust investigate some local places to do that (and other goodies - I do like farm shops/farmers' markets - just never seem to know when/where they are.....
Then take oldest DD to initial appointment to set up her counselling, & ask if I can refer middle DD as well.... Then to my auntie's for 'lunch' (which apparently is an enormous great leg of roast lamb). I thought she meant sandwiches, lol!! Then more office letters to type....
Oldest DD (16 next week) had a phone call yesterday for an interview for a Saturday job in the coffee shop of a local fabric store & she is delighted on 2 accounts (and so am I!) if she gets it - she will have a job & be getting money & also get a discount on fabric to make her prom dress!! (An OSer in the making....)
Anyway, time for a second cuppa I think... have a good day all!Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0
