Thank you, that would be lovely :A The bag in question is in a kit from M&S. It was a gift to a friend of DD's who doesn't knit  So DD's friend gave it to DD, who doesn't knit either   Guess who does knit    The wool is really odd - it's thin then thick, all through the ball - what's that about, then  And there's enough wool for 3 bags, so looks like I'll be making one for DD's friend, too :o

I'm sat at my desk at work, feeling grumpy :o:p Wish I'd brought my knitting :rotfl:

    Good morning!:hello:

WM has just finished, and will be able to use the washing line today, hooray.

Tidying and hoovering to do if poss, and maybe a bit of decluttering but will see how I feel later on.

May make a brief trip to Ikea (is it POSSIBLE to make a quick trip to Ikea?:D ) to return a duvet set we bought as a surprise for DGS14yo, only to find out afterwards that he has a double duvet rather than a single. Don't know what we'll do as this set is only available in single size and I'm not sure he'd like any of the double ones! Probably just ask for a refund.

Catznine - hope you manage to find the cat! Isn't it strange how cats always know when you're planning to take them to the vet! Thanks for your pm. Will reply when I can, iykwim! So glad your DH is doing well.

Lyndseyann - (((HUGS))) to you, that must have been really upsetting.

Smokybabe - so nice to see your post, and I'm glad it looks as if things will be okay as far as the house is concerned. (((HUGS))) Thinking of you.

r.mac - congrats on passing your exam!

Tru - baby guinea pigs, how lovely! they're so cute when they're born, already furry and running around! Careful though - I thought all our guinea pig's babies were male except one, so we just kept the female one - but I'd sexed them wrong and we'd kept what was actually the only male...didn't realise until a couple of months later when I saw the baby trying to mount his mum.... :o

Betheebee - I keep on meaning to say hello to you - I've got cousins in Street! Nice to know there are lady decorators around. Might have to look for one locally! I understand what you mean about the Christmas parties though - next time you must come on here and we'll all pull virtual crackers.

Pen Pen - glad you had a lovely holiday! We missed you loads!

Hardup Hester - so glad to hear you have a few days' peace!

Oldmacdonald - lovely to see you back!

Bargain Rzl - hope you enjoy your ballet lessons.

Grannybroon - so pleased for you that your kitchen etc is finally finished! I bet you're glad you haven't got that to do again in the near future!

Churchmouse, Shez, Aussielass :hello: :hello: :hello:

Catowen - thinking of you and your friend and her DH. She is so lucky to have a friend like you, and as others have said, helping with the children is the best help you cold possibly be giving her atm. (((HUGS)))

(((HUGS))) to everyone with dodgy joints!

    Welcome to our new posters.

I think dinner tonight will be Cajun Chicken as I got a free sample of Cajun seasoning seasoning in the goody bag from the Ideal Home Show! One of the other things in there was a bar of Galaxy Smooth and Dark - it was lovely....I am right in thinking that calories in a free bar of chocolate dont count, aren't I? :A :D

Hope everyone has as nice a day as possible! Off to empty WM now.

    Best wishes

Happy Birthday to master oldMacdonald! It's my DS's birthday too, but he's just a tad older! When I spoke with him this morning DGD was playing with his presents!!! Have done loads of HW this am, also including cutting out some sewing and the dogwalk - and it's still not lunchtime!
Totally off-subject - but the "t" on my laptop keeps sticking so I'm constanly having to go back and insert the letter very firmly - any solutions????

lyndseyann -sorry to hear your sad news. I hope that you feel more positive soon. Sending you big hugs.

Tru the exact same thing happened to my mum and sister about 10 years ago. Domino the guineapig had to be renamed Daisy the guineapig :D

    *veggies avert your eyes*
when in Peru I tasted guineapig as it is a local delicacy. A bit like very dry and stringy chicken - not really something I would have again.

    *veggies can look again now*

Anyway - my room is sparkling clean and bedding ready to be ironed (along with a pile of other stuff). Will do that while watching neighbours i think!
off to make that banana cake now.....

    Afternoon all :hello:

    lyndseyann ((hugs))
Forgot to say yesterday - congratulations to r.mac on passing the exam!
tru - congratulations on the guinea pig's patter of tiny (really tiny) feet... speaking of which, mioliere - look back at your post and see what you wrote to tru - now think "how would this sentence sound to somebody who'd just stepped into the conversation and didn't know what I was talking about" :rotfl:
catowen and mrs_mix - where are you? It's not like you to be AWOL from the morning posts. Also Mumzyof2 - where have you got to?

Am feeling quite energetic today - I've had problems in the past couple of months with feeling shattered all the time for no reason, so am pleased that today (when I start my ballet lessons!) I am currently feeling quite wide awake :) :j :j

I hope that when I get home from ballet (nearly typed "battle" - LOL) I'll have enough energy left over to do some baking. The lemons on my fruit rack seem to be saying "Please, please make us into a yummy drizzle cake" :D They need using up, as do the eggs, so it would be rude not to :D;):p

The BBC have released the Proms concert listings today. The price of a season ticket has gone up AGAIN  but there are more concerts this year, and £190 is still really incredible value for up to 76 different concerts over the course of 2 months! So yah boo sucks to everybody who thinks classical music is elitist :p Most summers I manage to get to about 40, so it's still under £5 a time (£5 being what you'd pay if you went on a per concert basis). It is one of those things which I budget for each month so the cost does not come as a shock when I have to post off the form for my season ticket...

Hugs to anybody who needs them especially smoky, Martyn and (as I already said) lyndseyann.

    Love Rzl xx

Edited to say: Happy birthday to youngMcDonald :D and Master beemuzed:bdaycake:

Well, I did something sort of energetic... it lasted 5 minutes, if that... I went to empty the compost bin and thought that it would be a good idea to just rake/hoe over the bed that we sorted the other week. Not done to perfection, but just disturbed the surface!

For the first time ever, I have emptied one of the compost bins right out. I was wondering if resulting material would be OK for planting my herbs in pots. Anyone know? Or I can do a little research later.

Stock is on. Have rummaged for all stashed scraps in the freezer.

Going through the fridge to try and avoid anything getting wasted. WIll have to find a lemon drizzle recipe, there are two suspect looking lemons in there. Don't know if 2 is enough.

    Hi

Having really looked at this thread for the first time I thought I would say hello and introduce myself a little. I recognise a few names from the Wooligans so some of you may have come across me.

I am currently living a very frenetic life. I am due to get married in 6 weeks time. (Which by the way is a very O/S style wedding - hoping total budget to be under £4,000). Consequently my fiance is in the process of moving in. His mum, who lived with him till recently has gone into full time care, (she is 86 with alzheimers) and so we are busy clearing out his house which has 35 years of stuff in it. Plus all that was brought to the house. Second skip arrives tomorrow. Central heating went in last week, insulation going in nect week and then after wedding builders start. Freecycling like mad at the moment.

I'm having the day off today. Crocheting a few squares and catching up on the washing. They plan to go out for lunch to local Chinese Buffet as a reward for all the hard labour this week so far! It is school hols here so fiance and I both off as well as the children. Children are now 18 and 14 respectively. 18 yr old soon to leave home for uni. (Another thread to watch!!) Great kids who have been a fabulous support for last 6 1/2 years since husband died.

So hello everyone. I will try and make the effort now to pop in and out.
