I need some advice if possible. I was in Tesco tonight and got some goods. Chicken, steak and salmon was overcharged £50 worth. I went to the cs and we went to shelf together and got the stickers. She went to look for manager and I returned to the cs desk. The duty manager finally arrived and refused to follow policy. I politely explained to him that I needed the products and that they have overcharged me. He still refused. I asked for copies of the shelf tickets or a written confirmation that I have been overcharged, he still refused. He then told me that I have 2 options either he gives me the difference or he refunds everything and Ileave empty handed. I asked him again to follow policy and he refused and then walked off. I waited a couple of minutes and then left the store with the goods.
I did record the conversation on my mobile and manage to get 1 shelf ticket for the steak.
The thing is what to I do now?? I obviously want my money back!!!
Anybody have any advice?
Contact customer services tell them you have a recording and shelf edge sticker to back up your claim tell them exactly what the store manager said to you and that you intend to pursue the matter with trading standards in respect of the offences you believe the company and their representative have committed with a view to prosecution under the trades description act and also trading standards legislation, point out that the refund and replace is part of their national advertising campaign and as such has had an influence in where you shop and how you feel misled not only by their pricing but their advertising, you also have the option of referring this instance to the Advertising Standards Authority for breaches there.
HTH
Once they have stopped apologising ask them if this is standard practice in the event someone discovers a pricing error or are they reserving these tactics for you specifically and how they intend to compensate you over and above the refund and replace they are OBLIGED to fulfill.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

I noticed this on Monday night with gammon shelf price lower than pack, thought there was something fishy that it was still on shelf late at night (even though had these before), scanned and sure enough shelf price correct. Same with some Duck in Pepper crumbs or something like that. Price on shelf correct pack wrong.
Is this a new Mr T strategy to boost sales (by letting folk buy loads of an item thinking they're going to get a full refund only to have there plan dashed and get charged for items they don't really want) and cheese off MSEr keen to give Mr T a jolly good stitching. :mad:0 -
Same thing happened to me tonight, bought a reduced chicken £3.99 down to £2.79, the bar code didn't register so the girl keyed it in at £2.99. Went to Cs who went straight for the manager. He offered me 20p difference and refused point blank to refund for overcharge said it is a genuine mistake unlike the chicken the other week [ the CS lady had to read their policy out to him on that occasion as he didnt even know there was one] he was adament told me to come back tomorrow to see CS manager, and bring the packaging, pointed out was trying to save petrol and that receipt said meat dept not chicken so I had no real proof, he said he would write it in the book [yeah the moons made of green cheese]. Told him I would be contacting CS 1st thing tomorrow not at store but head office, and that I didn't want the goods if they were not adhering to national advertised policy, gave him a very sorry looking chicken back, got money back in cash as no one knew how to do a credit card refund, so should be an interesting phone call in the morning.0

This is an absolute disgrace !!!
I think that Mr T managers are increasingly trying to intimidate customers who claim for overpriced products. The other day the dairy manager came over trying to do his intimadation routinue on me, with his security guy loitering in the background.
Unfortunately for him that sort of stuff don't work with me (given I'm a pretty powerful sort of guy and don't take no nonsense), and only made me more determined to get my refund and then to stitch him again at the earliest possible opportunity (which arose the following day). In the end he could see he was not going to wriggle out of it, so he paid up. But I could see how many would fold given they were being treated like they were in the wrong with an intimidating manager and his henchman behind him.
Maybe next time it might be worth going with someone else who can act as your eye witness if the event arises again. I'd be making damn sure that I'd find something mispriced in that store. Which store was it ?0 -

Once you give the product back and get refund Head Office are not interested. Happened to the missues, CS gave her some nonsense and fobbed her off, she tried head office the next day but weren't having any of it, even though they admitted the store had messed up. As a result, I went out and got several times the value of the original misprices as 'compensation'0 -
Well said, Kenny. As they say, don't get mad, get even!0

Thanks Kenny & Mr Smartprice not just going to get even but ahead, will be back there later today and then it will be a case of VENI VIDI VICI. By the way organic brie wrong £9.62ish on shelf £10.12 on packet.0

Lots more duck! 2 packs of breasts this time. £13.08 on pack, £12.99 on shelf.
Cleared out one store (where I got duck and gammon last week) and think I must be a marked woman. The CS woman, who I didn't recognise, said 'you were in last week for a big refund, weren't you?' and said she would need the manager. She brought him over, and must have said something, he said 'you've had a refund before ?' and I said yes (no crime in that!) Unfortunately, one of the 5 packs I swept off the shelf (grin!)hadn't been scanned at the till and so they said they would let me have it only if I paid the ticket price, so I said yes (still had a £16 refund though!!), but decided to get even because they were so churlish.
Waited until late last night (to make sure the CS staff had changed shifts!!!!) and went to another store to get petrol. Had a wander into the store and there was loads of the duck on the shelf. Unfortunately, all but 2 packs were reduced, but I took the 2 packs and a couple of other bits and she happily refunded me!
7 packs of duck breast for £4!!!
Packed most of it in the freezer (alongside the BiG and the Duck from last week!)
Think I might have to give the Fleetsbridge store a miss for a couple of weeks though, shame as they have most of the mistakes!"Stay Wonky":D
