Iffy_Wallet wrote:Sorry to ask this, when you are already up to page 59. But where does it say that Tesco will refund and give you the product if they price it wrong?
Is there a web link?
Is there a leaflet?
I looked at page 1 of this thread and couldn't find the answer.
It is displayed prominantly at every Tesco customer service point on a blue board usually about four feet high look to the bottom for the heading "And in the unlikely event things don't add up! "
In the event you are charged a higher price than displayed on the product or the shelf, we will refund your money and you can keep the product.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Well not bad for a first outting !
Got 2 x Organic brie shelf price 9.95 per kg pack price £10.20 per kg
Tesco finest cheese 9.95 shelf 9.99 pack
3 pack sirloin steak 10.13 shelf 10.18 pack *got the last one all the rest were correct*
Gammon went through at lower priceand so did duck breasts. But the price checker was broken so had to take the chance.
Woman didnt understand what i meant so went round the store pointing the differences out and she removed shelf edge labels as i did it, was really lovely lady and thanked me for showing her.
So £16 worth free, gammon and duck will use anyway.0 -

When on way home i thought, i'll just try my luck at Prescott.
had a good look round the meat and everything that has been incorrect now had yellow stickers on them. With the correct price on them.
I think that they are on the ball.

What would you have done?
Found some 200g mild oak smoked salmon,£2.88 on packet £2.57 on shelf.Scanned 6 of em on self scanner and they scanned at £2.88,paid for them (with my nivea lol) and then went to CS and pointed out the overcharge. She went to check, whilst she was away I wondered if she would spot the nivea £7.96 discount because she took my receipt with her but she didn`t,and came back to say that the boxes had been moved to another label and that £2.88 was correct but they would honour the £2.57 price if I wished.I felt that although she was wrong in what she was saying I said that I would take the full refund for now.I was thinking about arguing it further but I felt if the manager came he may have spotted the incorrect nivea discount so it wasn`t worth the hassle that may have caused.I was still quite annoyed about the whole thing and am still thinking about going back even now.never chew the umbilical cord!!0 -
Quattro promotion finished tonight. Went in to Tesco's tonight to buy the WS blades and they were shelf marked 4.98 but scanned at 2.98. Bought the last four packs and four niveas (bogof display had been removed). The young cs accepted the four coupons off the front of the blades and also a King of Shaves coupon for a pound I received in the post today.
4 x blades = 11.92
4 x nivea = 2.00 (9.96-7.96)
coupons total = 13
price paid = 0.92:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0 -
Nivea signs removed at Leyland, but offer still remains. So we had a few more.
Duck fillets mispriced, so got a refund on those.
Whole ducks mispriced, but I didn't buy one, cos I have no idea what I'd do with it!!
The CS lady couldn't have been nicer. She was training, and I think I taught her a lot today.
One problem arose - I was not allowed to use any coupons. The young lad told me their policy was to allow coupons only for items purchased. Anyhow, went back later for some other stuff and used a Joey (didn't dare try more) in the self-serve till - worked fine.

Hi
I need some advice if possible. I was in Tesco tonight and got some goods. Chicken, steak and salmon was overcharged £50 worth. I went to the cs and we went to shelf together and got the stickers. She went to look for manager and I returned to the cs desk. The duty manager finally arrived and refused to follow policy. I politely explained to him that I needed the products and that they have overcharged me. He still refused. I asked for copies of the shelf tickets or a written confirmation that I have been overcharged, he still refused. He then told me that I have 2 options either he gives me the difference or he refunds everything and Ileave empty handed. I asked him again to follow policy and he refused and then walked off. I waited a couple of minutes and then left the store with the goods.
I did record the conversation on my mobile and manage to get 1 shelf ticket for the steak.
The thing is what to I do now?? I obviously want my money back!!!
Anybody have any advice?0 -
First attempt ever in Chelmsford 24hr tesco- I did really well on Quattros which were £2.98 on shelf. However, managed to get charged for 2 packs of 8 when only bought one- didn't notice till I got home. I was very nervous, even though I generally think of myself as quite thick skinned and I got too flustered to notice. However, tomorrow is another day...Do you think I could get a refund?
I asked about a self scanner at customer service- they said only Sainsbury's do that. I said- not to pay just to check? But they said no.Is it just some stores? The gammon was marked wrongly but scanned correctly.
So I count it a learning experience and I have still got those razorblades...
Thanks to all who posted before.0 -

Personally, I wouldn't have left it there. I'd have said I would take it up with Trading Standards and then go on to tell him exactly how much the fine is per item overcharged. Now that you've left the shop, I'd suggest contacting customer services and explaining the situation. Start off by being polite, etc. If you get no joy, mention Trading Standards. If all else fails, go to Trading Standards with your proof. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.
