Decided to visit the 3rd big Tesco in Poole (the others I'm now recognised at!!) as I've not been there yet - came out with some organic Brie £9.62 ish on the ticket, £10.50 on packet . Also -
Tesco Whole Chicken 1.5kg Roast in Bag Butter Basted Flavour. £3.99 on packet (big ticket too!) £2.99 and NEW on shelf.
Very nice CS lady, but smiled to myself as she said, 'there you go, as a goodwill gesture, you can have the cheese and chicken for free' .
Anyone know where I can get a cheap small chest freezer - I could only fit 3 in , had to leave the rest behind!!"Stay Wonky":D

nannaC wrote:Same thing happened to me tonight, bought a reduced chicken £3.99 down to £2.79, the bar code didn't register so the girl keyed it in at £2.99. Went to Cs who went straight for the manager. He offered me 20p difference and refused point blank to refund for overcharge said it is a genuine mistake unlike the chicken the other week [ the CS lady had to read their policy out to him on that occasion as he didnt even know there was one] he was adament told me to come back tomorrow to see CS manager, and bring the packaging, pointed out was trying to save petrol and that receipt said meat dept not chicken so I had no real proof, he said he would write it in the book [yeah the moons made of green cheese]. Told him I would be contacting CS 1st thing tomorrow not at store but head office, and that I didn't want the goods if they were not adhering to national advertised policy, gave him a very sorry looking chicken back, got money back in cash as no one knew how to do a credit card refund, so should be an interesting phone call in the morning.
rang CS this morning spoke to a nice guy who tried to tell me that the manager was refering to their policy of only giving back the difference on genuine human mistakes &, till errors, and not their policy of refunds on wrong shelf/ pack errors, I let him finish and then asked very sweetly  if that is the case then are all the shelf/pack errors deliberate as they are done by humans Trading Standards will be interested, Ah. oh, well err was the reply, the manager didn't handle it very well, I apologise on behalf of Tesco will put a refund in the post. Thanked him and suggested that better instore training in the art of CS for managers could be needed. He was more concerned that NO ONE knew how to do a CARD REFUND, [which just between ourselves meant they were operating illegally at the time] .

Just got back from Tescos.... I got one pack of organic sirloin steak(£5.79). £14.99 per kg on pack, £12.99 per pack on shelf.
I went to CS and the woman said that she didnt understand what I was saying. I said that I thought it would have scanned for less than £5.79 because the shelf price was £2 per kilo cheaper. She said she had to refer it to a manager and she walked off.
10 minutes later, I was still waiting! She came back and said that she had to refer it to a manager but they were all in a meeting and they'd be out at 3 (it was 2.55) . 3 came and went then she disappeared again. i patiently waited.... preparing myself for a big confrontation!
another 5 minutes later a female manager came. She didnt apologise for keeping me waiting or anything and just went straight in and said "we WILL honour this on THIS occassion but we are losing a lot of money every week (pity!). " she turned the the CS woman and snapped at her "I want the ENTIRE stores prices checked".
I just said "Thank you" to the CS woman and left!0 -
If I had been feeling cheeky (and brave!) I'd have said to the grumpy manager on my way out - ' oh, don't bother checking the meat aisle, it's all correct, I've already done it for you!!'......giggle....

Hi How do you know if it's a mis price on the beer/wine etc?. I'm ok with the meat/cheese because the shelf and item has a price on, but, the beer only has a shelf price, doesn't it?
Is this a lucky find? or should I be looking more carefully around the store?
ThanksLook after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
have a look at the yellow shelve edge tickets, and if the date of when the promotion has ended, take the product to the check scanner and see if the price has gone back up, i was lucky with the beer today because they are normally very good with the tickets on wines and spirits0
