so like many others my folks are stuck in a bind.

they came out to HK on the last ever Oasis flight. Scrambled around to get tickets and managed to get BA tickets for £300 per person back to London.

the travel insurance company has just confirmed however, that the Oasis liquidation is NOT covered under their policy.

May Be Good News As They Will Continue Operations As Normal Because For £60m For 5 Jumbos Is Cheap As They Are Trading Around £20-£30m Per Plane Depending On Condition.
It Appears That Oasis Were Pushed Into A Pincer Position Because Leasors And Banks Were Told Not To Deal With Them.so They Couldnt Hedge In The Oil Market.
    Another Fredy Laker Scenario.
  • do you mean oasis has been bought out? i don't quite understand. where's the source? cheers
  • If it's true, what's the impact on me - I have bought a replacement ticket, and in a process of claiming chargeback (debit card) from my bank?!

Cnbc Is Part Of The Nbc Network And Is A Financial News Channel.it Is On Channel 505 On Sky.
It Is Yet To Be Confirmed Or Finalised But Local Hong Kong Threads And Local Hong Kong Chinese Websites Pretty Much Suggest It Is A Done Deal!! Google It As I Lost The Link But You Must Be Able To Read Chinese.

Li Kai Shing Is In The Top 10 Richest Man In The World And It Is Also Rumoured Lee Shau Kee Of Henderson Land Will Also Participate In The Rescue. Rev.raymond Lee Owner Of Oasis Is A Close Personal Friend Of Victor Li Who Is Li Kai Shingis Son And Ceo Of Cheong Kong.
Lee Shau Kee Is Also A Wealthy Billionaire From Hong Kong.

There Is Hope But Dont' Get Excited
  • I'm not excited, I'm so p****d off! If they buy it out, will they change the name? It's going to be one hell of a PR stunt if they do - Not to mention the mega-bucks they'll need to pull that one off. Does anyone have an idea of what to do if we're claiming back from our CC companies? Cheers
