Disgruntled Oasis Hong Kong Airlines customers will have to wait until June 11 at the earliest to learn whether they can expect a refund for unused tickets....

just found this. anyone got an idea what we happen if we'd claimed for these flights and new ones to our credit card companies? surely we could be held liable, as we'd have 2 "live" tickets?

Hi i am after a bit of help i phoned halifax credit card customer service today and got told that they would not be able to file a claim untill I had tried to register a claim with oasis i luckily am a member with a union who offer a free legal help line the solisitor I spoke to basicly told me this was not the case and that it was equal libility and that it was up to me who i took the case up with but she suggested that because oasis had gone bust that my best option was with the credit card company. So i rang Halifax back relayed this information but was still told the same story that unless i filed a claim with oasis there was nothing they could do. So any suggestions what i should do next i would be greatfuly thankfull

    hi Gary here,
I too am fuming about the Oasis debacle... finding a lot of conflicting info. re: refunds... my friend paid for the tickets, I paid him of course, (myself, wife and infant son) to travel to Hong Kong 786.90 gbp's down already...then onto Cebu (more financial loss there too, but that most certainly ain't their problem. Oh yeah and my insurance was well and truly inadequate) < my bad... with his visa debit (nationwide BS) card... he filled a form out and sent it to visa, nothing to report yet, anyone out there can tell me anything positive or negative 'bout my position it'll be welcome...will I never see the money because it was debit and worse someone else's? How can that be since the goods, so to speak, were never delivered?... and I sent my details to KPMG today...try this fax number 0085228697357...seemed to work. Although what good it'll do I don't know cos I called the office of 1 Mr Cowley in Hong Kong (provisional administrator number 1 or 2 who cares?) and apparently it's only really for the benefit of potential investors to see what debt they may be taking on.

Thanks Oasis for ruining what was going to be the holiday of a lifetime...if any1 gives me stick for being cheap or whatever, i accept it, I was ill informed to put it mildly.

    Cheers for listening

    hi
i belive they have been bought out that story about them it true i saw the news on sky even if they change the name they will have to honor the tickets so i would just hang in there for a bit give it a month or to see what happens i think someone will defentily buy them out at the moment they are still bust so u got more chance of claiming u money if u paid with visa with u bank dont wait for the news which may or may not be true the bank has to honor the contract if they dont take them to small claims court any visa, visa debit card u can do a chargeback the bank has to investagate the claim and also u have to do it within 120 days and i sugest u registar a claim and tell them u have done it i already booked another holiday this time with a abta agent ie flight center or dial a flight etc at least if they go bust i am coverd and what ever u do dont pay cash for tickets as u dont have any protection
ive had to pospone my holiday for a month because of oasis ill never fly them again whatever name they come up with ill still get my money back whatever happens so keep trying with the banks if u fail keep trying till get somewhere
    thanks

I dont think that was the Fax number you suppose to fax to ..... it is different to the one on the Registration of Claim form.

DONT FORGET LI KAI SHING OWNS PRICELINE.COM A MAJOR ONLINE AIRLINE/HOLIDAY BOOKING COMPANY LIKE EXPEDIA AND EBOOKERS.

IF THEY ARE PAYING $1 TO TAKEOVER THE THE COMPANY INTACT, IMPLIES THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO HONOUR ALL OUTSTANDING DEBTS INCLUDING PASSENGERS TICKETS.IF NOT THEY WILL BE SUED BY EVERYONE AND THEIR AIRCRAFT IMPOUNDED AT GATWICK.HENCE THE NOMINAL CONSIDERATION JUST LIKE THE UK GOVT TAKING OVER RAILTRACK AND NORTHERN ROCK.

HEY! LI KAI SHING IS THE OTHER HONG KONG GOVERNMENT.THE MOST POWEFUL BUSINESSMEN IN ASIA WITH HARDLY ANY BORROWINGS, OWNER OF 3 MOBILE IN UK AND FOLKSTONE CONTAINER PORT.
