i am going to lanzarote playa blanca next week with my 2 sons aged 12 and 14, we are staying for a month as my parents have just moved out there. am just looking for ideas for them, other than the beach and pool etc.
they are looking for tennis courts and maybe a football pitch and anything else u can recommend.Top wins - £10,000 lottery/daily mirror, £5000 asda vouchers, £1000 washing machine, 2 week canaries cruise, VIP trip to the olympics, 46" 3D TV, personal chef, kitchen aid mixer, £1000 tesco vouchers - latest prize £10,000 road trip with kit Kat0 -
tamalyn - for footie... go see Gary at Wax Bar (in the complex behind Playa Dorada) and have a natter to him about various options (lovely chap!).
Tennis courts - they are in some of the hotels... and they don't mind you using them as it make the hotels look busy,... but do go check with reception first (my stepson does this without issues on the basketball courts)
Apart from that... feel free to ask!

Hello,
This thread is Amazing!
Me and my Girlfriend are going to book our first ever holiday for Mid October and are looking to stay at Cay Beach Sun Hotel in Playa Blanca on an All Inclusive Basis.
Just Wondering if youve heard anything about this hotel? Looks pretty good from what we can see, but youll know more than us! haha
Also were quite young so wondering if weel have plenty to do at night time!
One last thing, whats the weather likely to be like? Praying for no rain! haha
Sorry if ive asked anything thats already been answered.
Keep up the good advice!
Cheers.0 -
Hi Aaron - glad you like the thread!
Yes I know Sun Beach fairly well. It's not a luxury hotel... but if you're after clean and basic in a terrific location, then it ticks the boxes. We have family that have stayed there all inclusive. They said the food was fine... but got a bit boring after a few days. But you can always go out for dinner if you fancy it anyway. I do know that the wine at Sun Park is like vinegar... so stick to beer, spirits and soft drinks if you don't want to lose your taste buds.
Come out of your hotel, and turn right. At the crossroads... go straight over, and just keep heading forward and you'll reach the promenade (5 mins walk from your hotel). Just there is Playa Dorada where you can sunbathe to your hearts' content. If you turn right there... you'll come across a commercial centre in about 2 minutes. It's got Burger King flags flying, if you need a landmark. Anyway, in there is where you can head to at night if you want to party. Start at Wax Bar, and then move either downstairs to Jungle, or upstairs to the Sports Bar. Don't expect Ibiza... as Playa Blanca is far from that... but if you're after a party... then you'll find one somewhere. There are also a couple fo decent Irish bars in there... so you could grab some live music too.
October weather can be a little changeable. But don't worry... if it's a little cloudy, still slap on the sun cream as you can still burn. If it does rain, it should only be a shower at that time of year... if anything! It will certainly still be quite warm and should be a darn sight drier than where you've flown out from. Oh and the sea is at its most swimmable in October too!

Very excited for our holiday to Lanzarote in September. I have been 3 times before including once to Playa Blanca but my OH has never been before. We are staying in Costa Teguise at the El Guarapo apartments for 2 weeks.0

Are the buses still good? I remember we used the buses quite a lot last time.0 -
Yeah - the buses are fine love - I use them myself as I don't drive. The timetables are at https://www.arrecifebus.com
