Yvonne - Just checked prices of baby food. a large jar is 1,20 euro, but like I said there isn't a great variety

Pampers Nappies were 9.78 euro for a small pack and swim nappies the same !!

Have just been and bought some Aptimil milk and it was 19 euro

Elle whats happened to the weather ? got wet on my walk into town today :( please tell me that the sun will come out tomorrow as I need to get working on the tan :)

Thanks very much to you both for all your information, I have squeezed in as many nappies and baby jars my luggage allowance will allow so fingers crossed he wont need too many ham and carrot jars! I have also got a mini hand blender so I can make a few things with that too. We fly out this sunday and can't wait! Thanks again. :jYvonne.
  • Hi there just another query we are staying at the Jardin del sol and my husband is wondering if there are any gym's locally and which would be best to use? Also we are travelling with a 10 month old, 5 year old and 11 year old do you have any advice on where we might find some entertainment at night as our complex does not appear to have any but we fancy a few evenings out with them.

look forward to hearing from you soon
    Yvonne. :)

    You're more than welcome Yvonne!

You've stumped me on the gym question... But I think all the hotels have gyms... and I've never heard anything dodgy about any of them - so I'd just pick the nearest.

Entertainment is no problem. It's pretty low key - but there's live music in all the Irish Bars... plus karaoke in quite a few others. The kids will be welcomed everywhere hon. The hotels also have entertainment, and are fine with outsiders coming in as long as you're buying a few drinks whilst there. Perhaps someone else can give you more detail on that. If you get to hear Allan Day performing anywhere... then take the opportunity. He's a great singer and is a really top bloke too! His website is https://www.lanzarotevocalist.com if you wanted to drop him a line and find out where he'll be. I think he still does "Las Brisas", but I'm unsure of which night. Do give him my love too - he and his wife Elaine are a lovely couple... and it's been far too long since I've raised a glass with them.

It's hot hot hot right now - so make sure you can squeeze some sun cream in between the nappies and jars of baby food!

    Have a fantastic time!

Have a lovely time hon. Weather was grim this morning as it was dark grey cloud all round (although it was still warm). But it burned off... and has been goregous this afternoon.

    Hi Elle,

Sorry if this question has already been asked/answered in the 10 pages of thread but can you please tell me what the weather is like in January?

My OH and I are getting married on the 15th and will be looking to book a week's honeymoon somewhere reasonably priced (my dream honeymoon of the Seychelles is unfortunately a bit over budget!)

Any info you can give me re weather etc in January would be greatly appreciated, and then I'll read through the rest of this thread when I have more time later at home!

    Thanks in advance!

    No problem Anna.

Weather in January is fairly warm. Temps are in the low 20s. Very little rain (that usually arrives in February). You're not going to get guaranteed wall-to-wall sunshine like heading to Australia or your dream Seychelles... but for a lovely springlike feel - then you can't go wrong.

You'll find that those of us that live here are huddled in our jeans and fleeces... but all holidaymakers are in swimwear and shorts. Do bring something more substamtial for the evenings though... as that temperature can drop down to 16 - 18 degrees then.
