Thank you ladies, this info has certainly put my mind at ease. we are staying in a villa in magia alegranza...does this mean anything to you and is it close to the beach and the town?
thank you
Katie0 -
Alegranza isn't one of the closest complexes to town... but I'd put it at about a half hour stroll to Playa Flamingo and / or the town centre.
Nice area!

TY Elle, I'm sorry to be a pain and I'm probably going to be asking lots of questions in the next few days LOL but do you have any taxi numbers for the lazy days when we don't feel like walking0
-
You're not a pain at all hon! I'd rather answer your questions for you, so then we know you'll have a good time!
Taxi number is 928 524 222. The woman speaks a little English - but the man doesn't speak any. But as long s you know the Spanish word for where you are stood... then you'll be fine. There is also a taxi rank in the Town Centre too - you can't miss it. Don't book it until you're ready though... as they turn up very quickly. Cost from town to Alegranza should be about €3.50 - €4.

Elle, can I trouble you for a little more of your knowledge and wisdom please ?
OH has got his eye on a rather snazzy Ralph lauren shirt and I was wondering what the chances of it being the genuine article are ?
Its in a "proper shop" but on sale with an apparent 30 % discount - do you have Trading standards in Lanzorote or would it be possible for a seemingly legit shop to sell fakes ?0 -
Hi again Nottslass. If it's in one of the designer shops down at the Marina... then yes, I'm 99.99% sure it's the genuine article. If elsewhere... then to be honest I don't know.
But don't sue me if it's not.
Yes, we have trading standards... but they are largely ignored (particularly by electronics shops)

Thanks Elle.
Last day today - we've had a great time and will return.
Thanks so much for the time & trouble you've spent in answering mine and others questions, this guide has proved invaluable during our stay.0 -
You are very welcome Nottslass! Am pleased that you enjoyed your holiday here! If today is your last whole day... and you're flying into EMA tomorrow - keep an eye out for my fella. He's heading to EMA too!
Please don't take the sunshine away with you though! xxxxxI'm not easily distracted, I just... ... ... oh my god it's a puppy!!0
