Best way to do the volcanoes is if you have hired a car - and then drive yourself. Then it is just €8.50 to get in. Yell if you need directions - but it's nice and simple to get to. Takes about 20-25 mins from Playa Blanca. You might even find it cheaper to hire a car for a day or two for your family than to pay for an organised trip - worth looking at anyway.
Fuerteventura is nice and easy too. Just head down to the Ferry Port in town, and get the Armas Ferry. Fred Olsen is slightly dearer although faster. I used to use Armas before I qualified for Resident discount.
If the weather we have now stays for your holiday - it'll be a scorcher! It's about 30 degrees at the moment - yippee!

Thanks so much Elle ! You don't have a rough idea of how much it would cost for four of us to do the ferry to Fuerteventura for the day? Don't worry if you don't!:D (We are AI in our hotel- so just trying to work out roughly what it will cost to do the things we want. For a day in Fuerteventura I would factor in cost of ferry and our food and drink over there for the day.)
Also, if hubby decides against driving-are there any reasonably priced tour companies we could use to see the volcanoes?
Thankyou for your help-REALLY appreciate it x:hello: SHARING THE LOVE (OF A BARGAIN) x0 -
Here you go hon - here's a link to their site http://www.navieraarmas.com/index.php?id_pagina=1&idioma=en
It depends on which way the wind is blowing as to whether the site works properly... so I'd recommend going to the port to pay rather than online... just to be sure.
2 adults & 2 kids without a car is approx €94 ( I did a sample search using your info, for tomorrow). But sometimes there are special offers advertised at the port too. Things worth seeing are the Baku Water Park - prices on their website here: http://www.bakufuerteventura.com/home_eng.html. Also, the sand dunes - which you can do by bus from Corralejo cheaply enough. As far as the rest of the northern part of Fuerteventura goes... it's quite similar to Lanzarote - except they have higher buildings and they're different colours to our whitewashed cottages.
The excursions I'm afraid I'm a little rusty on price (sorry!!) - but I think it was about €35 - €40 per person. Someone else may be able to confirm.. or blow my prices out of the water. Lastminute Travel are in the town centre... and worth comparing prices with (if you can find their office as they can't seem to sit still at the moment) or also there is a place outside the main Hiperdino in town that I think does excursions too.
Right - back to Fuerteventura. I've just had a nose about and found this website: http://www.fuerteventura-excursions.com/ It advertises ferry prices towards the bottom of the page so may be able to negotiate a discount or extra goodies for you. Granted that they're on about doing Fuerte to Lanza and back rather than your direction... but they might be worth speaking to. They may also be able to sort you out an excursion that includes the ferry, dunes and water park... or Oasis Park too. Please do let me know if you find that company to be helpful... as I have a couple of websites I'll add them to if that's the case. I have no experience of them myself as yet.
Good luck! xxxI'm not easily distracted, I just... ... ... oh my god it's a puppy!!0 -

fly out in 4 weeks so excited
elle have you remembered the name of that place to eat0 -
Hiya hon - you'll be counting the hours instead of the weeks before you know it!
I actually walked past the restaurant on Sunday... and remembered the name then - but it's gone again. But to find it... head along the seafront from the beach in the centre, towards the ferry port. You'll see Spices restaurant on your right (certainly NEVER recommended by myself - ever!) and the one with the kiddies area is two or three restaurants past past. It has dark wood awnings and parrots outside. It gets fairly good reviews for the food... and good reviews for the kids' area.
Sorry to be so useless!

no worries thanks for your help
have the beach workers gone on hols0 -
They're still working at the moment, thankfully. I took some photos on Sunday - I really should upload them and post a link. It's a way off completion as far as we can see... although I'm no expert.
I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow for you.
