This is my world too. Both my son and daughter catch it! My son has lovely thick hair and it was harder to go through than my daughter's hair and I ended up getting his hair cut off as I couldn't deal with it. And my daughter who is 6 yrs old has long hair. She begged me to cut it and I nearly gave in and did it, but have spent every night combing it and have now made it apart of our routine fixing her hair every day before I put it into plaits. They are both free of it now but I continue to use the nit comb every day now out of habit so I know they don't have any. I found the tea tree oil shampoo worked best for us along with the conditioner. I honestly do not understand why some parents do not treat their children for them, it just breaks your heart.0

In the middle of an infestation as we speak! Have started using a robi comb which electrocutes the little blighters, doing it every 2-3 days and is working well, really easy to use and no mess involved.0

You could buy some really cheap conditioner (try poundland) and do the natural method of slathering on the conditioner and combing them out every day for the next week or so.0

our chemist doesnt do it but did say if we could get a doctors appointment then they would do a prescription. I just go through dd's hair with conditioner and a nit comb twice a day when she comes home with them and after 2 days they are gone. Although then i get itchy and do my hair and check dd's hair constantly just to make sure. Getting itchy now!!!! lol0

When I had head lice at school, the only thing that helped (after trying loads and loads of different solutions) was buying conditioner and a comb and combing my hair out every other day. Worked out quite cheap as well.0
