Snaggles, sorry to hear how things went with the nursery. Just to put another slant on things, have you thought that maybe the manager has something to do with the way this girl has reacted on the phone to you.
Just a thought, but if the manager is not very good at managing and and has gone about talking to Natasha's key worker in the wrong way, that could have been why she was so defensive/hostile to you.
If you can tomorrow, maybe it might be worth setting up a meeting with the manager and Natashas key worker, so that there is no misunderstanding about what you are saying.
I know this sort of situation does not fill you with a great deal of hope about the kind of establishment they are running, but if it gets you out of paying money in leiu of notice, is it not worth a shot?
But if a nappy is changed at 12 and not checked again before 3 maybe they need to reassess their 'nappy changing policy' and while they are at it, maybe they could do with a few sensory exercises in the nursery. If the staff cannot smell S**t then there is something wrong:rotfl: .
It's a really good idea - but I don't think I could stay calm and rational, so it might do more harm than good. I'm going to try and draft a letter stting why I am unhappy, and explaining why I shouldn't have to pay any more (and in fact why I think I should get a refund of most of what I have paid)."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
That's terrible snags. Can't believe what a pathetic excuse they gave. They have a duty to care for your child. It is actually an ofsted requirement that soiled nappies are changed as and when rather than to a 'rota'. So you should complain to ofsted as well as to the nursery. They're in breach of contract by not adhering to ofsted regulations so you have the right to remove natty now and not pay a penny more.
Really angers me that they could be so blase about it. I hope she's ok now.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Aww snags, sorry it's all gone t1ts up with the nursery...
Be sure to state that what was initially parental concern and no more than feedback has been blown out of all proportion by the attitude of the staff member who called you, hence you're removing Tash with immediate effect. State that you will not be giving them any notice period and in fact (given their failure to adhere to Ofsted guidelines and their failing in their duty of care, not to mention their appalling complaints procedure handling) you feel you would be entitled to a refund of sorts.
and get the name of the local ofsted inspector/person and cc them into the letter so the nursery are in no doubt you mean business.....
Barstewards!
And if you have to pay out for the notice period, you will recoup that back in 2-3 months worth of cheaper work creche fees, so it's not the end of the world. well only short term financially wise.I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Good Morning Snaggles - I hope the nursery stuff gets sorted out today so that you know what is what.

Gahhh....just had another call from the nursery. They are full of excuses.....Natasha had pineapple for lunch so her poo will have been acidic, she had been grisly all day (first time they have mentioned THIS which also doesn't inspire me with confidence), a 2 week work placement student was looking after her at the time so she can't have been expected to know the nappy needed changing......
She also said that Natasha woke up from her nap very upset at 2.20pm, so she thinks this is when she had probably dirtied the nappy. I signed her out at 3.15pm, so if that was the case, she had been sat in it for almost an hour (possibly more as she may have done it while asleep).
Then, when I stated that I was withdrawing her from the nursery, she 'helpfully' reminded me of the notice period.

I have written a letter (which I will now amend bearing in mind our conversation today), giving a full account of what happened, and stating that I will NOT be paying another months fees, in fact I feel I should be refunded some of the monies I have already paid, and that I am considering sending a copy of my letter to Ofsted (I managed to include a word for word quote of Ofsted's 'standard 7', relating to hygiene, which specifically refers to nappies being changed when required - thanks for the tip off about this IA!).
I am sooooo angry."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
bloody good for you Snaggles, useless place. If they had any sense they'd keep their mouth shut and give you your money. They don't have a leg to stand on.
xxNevertheless she persisted.0 -

Talk about digging themselves into a deeper hole! Pineapple for lunch, how quickly do they think your little girl digests food:rotfl: I bet you could have reached your arm down the phone and throttled them. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

So they change the child, then feed it, then aim to changer it again three hours later? I know next to nothing about babies but I do know that's ridiculous! No longer using this account for new posts from 20130
