    yikes yikes thats the same router as i use!! And i have it on on a rather fluffy carpet 24/7.

    The thing is the router can be in use for upto 18-20 hours a day so it's not much to keep it on all the time.

    I might look at putting the router on a piece of wood...

    I do not think that the router is going to burst into flames unless its defective in some way, thats the catch knowing when its defective. Mine gets reasonably warm I would not like it to be on when Im not there its so easy to switch it off, like many on here mine is connected up with the laptop, printers, sound system etc so off is off for all.

    Can`t see the point of leaving it on overnight when not in use.
    Saves a bit of leccy too.
