This was mentioned in another thread but I didn't want to hijack that one so here goes.
I have always left mine on.
How about others why do you leave it on/turn it off?
One poster mentioned saving on leccy.

i suppose the disclaimer here would be barring powercuts and changing to new router, but several years 24/7Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
I always leave mine on. Thinking about it, I probably should turn it off when not using it as it's wasting electricity and not terribly environmentally friendly to leave it on 24/7. It generally connects in less than 20 seconds, which is quicker than my PC boots up so I shall have to make a note to switch it off when not online.0

I turn it off at night:) Quite incredible that some routers have no on/off switch:mad:BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

Mine's on all the time. My wireless network gets used for music streaming and surfing from all over the house so it seems daft to switch it off. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.

On, but I feel guilty.
Off when away for any length of time.0 -

I switch mine off at night. Only because if left on continuously the sync speed falls to a ridiculously low level with a corresponding fall in actual speeds over a 24 hour period.
When I switch on in the morning it syncs at a good speed which remains the same all day and the actual speeds remain higher as well up until it's then switched off..0 -
only gets switched off when son number 3 does wrong
and then i forget about it the next dayliving on the "edge"0 -
I am led to belive that if you are on the ADSL Max product the exchange setup and control prefers you to disconnect once a day .
On that basis and the fact that its electric and a firehazard the router and other stuff is switched off when not going to be in use . Normally overnight .
