We've had mice running around upstairs, under the floorboards. We've used poison but didn't think it was working til yesterday, when we noticed less scratching and scurrying sounds. I haven't heard anything at all today, miss tru has just got in from work and walked into her room and it STINKS  There's no mice in her room, they must be under the floor. I reckon they've all died in one place
I feel a bit sorry for her and she's insisting on sleeping on the sofa til the smell has gone - it could take up to 2 weeks  Apparantly there's nothing you can do about the smell apart from take up all the floorboards and search for dead bodies, don't really wanna do that so I'm going to be totally un-OS and buy shake and vac, air fresheners and that spray-and-leave-to-dry-foamy-carpet-freshener-stuff. If you could smell it, you'd completely understand
PLEASE DON'T SACK ME :rotfl:

Evening everyone
bit late posting today but i have been playing catchup with the thread at various intervals.
Today has been my day in the kitchen and usually i find it very theraputic, today however the phone has been ringing everytime i get my hands covered in something gooey and the phonecalls have made me waste a lot of kitchen time.
Never mind most of it`s done now and after dinner i`ve just got a batch of hobnobs to make. My meal planner has changed yet again as we managed to get a happy chicken this weekend, it was unexpected as there haven`t been many on the shelves in the supermarkets lately, we didn`t really need it but took the opportunity anyway.
Dinner tonight is a lovely roast chicken with all the trimmings and we will probably have the same again tomorrow, i put the carcass in the pressure cooker with some sage and an oxo and when that was finished and strained i added lots of veg and pasta intending to make chicken stew to freeze but it tastes gorgeous without any chicken in so i need to find another recipe now to use the rest up.
Hugs to everyone today especially Smoky (((())))
Good luck for tomorrow mellika!
Have a good evening everyone.

Evening all
Still no idea if/when Katy is going away. It seems she was expecting to spend this week with the guy she sent the photos to, suddenly once he'd received all the pics he disappeared into the wild blue yonder, she's spent most of today leaving weepy messages on his phone. We have a very sad & tearful Katy drooping around the house.
Have a good evening
Hugs Hester

Evening all.
Bit of a waiting around day today. Had my haircut at half nine (£20 for wash, cut and blow dry) then hung around in town until my dietician appointment at 11 - have lost 7lb's since Jan 21st. Its a start. I need to lose half my body weight to be within the healthy BMI range, but for the moment I'll settle for being a weight that registers on my scales!!! My husband has lost 12.3lb in the same time period, but he has been doing a lot of digging down at the allotment.
Then hung around a bit more til two, when i got fed up and came home. Have been waiting for a tutor to call me all flipping afternoon to go into work and discuss how I did on the first unit of my course. They didn't ring. So, I haven't really wanted to start on anything in case the call came and I had to drop it to go into work.
Had turkey stirfry for tea - yum. Marinaded the turkey (leftovers from yesterday) in some soy sauce before cooking it. Followed it by a bowl of honeydew and water melon. (And a sneaky egg custard....)
Just sorting out laundry tonight, and chilling. Hope everyone has a good evening - hugs to whomever wants them.

Hope you all have had a good day. I woke up this morning and put the WM on, and started to smell burning . My mum had a look inside, and some of the wires at the back had burnt out. Luckily my mum has offered to buy me a new one as my Xmas gift for 2008.
Work was also very busy, and I didn't get one moment to myself. I'm looking forward now to getting a good book, and having a read in bed.
Have a nice evening - PowieA woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
Evening all :hello:
Catowen - sorry for your news, hope it turns out to be nothing too serious.
VickyA - hope all went well for your DH today, we all make mistakes, I've made pretty large ones in my time, and there's a difference between those who care about what they do and those who don't.
Dogrose - congrats on finishing your essay, I remember those days well and don't envy you!
Melika - good luck for the interview!
I made lemon curd yesterday with some sad looking lemons and am very happy I made the effort. Did hoovering and sorted out a few things for the freezer after work today, had a lovely cauliflower cheese for tea made by my lovely OH, although he nearly forgot to do some potatoes to go with it!
Right need to finish tidying the kitchen before OH gets home so he doesn't think I've been sat here on the computer/watching corrie/on the phone all evening....which of course I have!
Hugs to anyone feeling down/poorly

Quick hello from me this evening, I am totally knackered (again) think I must be run down
Hope everyone is ok and ((((((hugs)))))) to all those who need them. Will be back to catch up with everyone tomorrow :hello:0 -
Evening everyone.
I have had a seriously bad day... " (quite major) things happened at work and through no fault of ours we (OH and myself) have loads of extra work to do to rectify it!!!!!
The combi boiler is still broken and it's b****y freezing at home. On a good note OH has finally bought some replacement glass for front door and has fixed that tonight.
I have bids on some of my second hand stuff (I'm having a clearout and it's taking forever to get everything listed and got rid of!!!)
Sorry... Rant over.
I hope everyone is ok (((hugs))) for smoky and kids-my prayers are still with you. ((hugs)) for Martyn and anyone else who needs or wants one. Welcome to newbies.
Hope anyone who is feeling poorly or low or sad etc etc feels better soon.
Just gonna take a cup of tea up to bed-bed's the warmest place at the mo.
And I still have to fathom out how to make a draught excluder (old style) for my front door as it's like Vladivostock (helluva draught even when the door's shut!!)
