OS Daily for 7th April

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 7th April 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Okay, so I can't believe I'm starting one, coz there must be one somewhere but I couldn't see it so if it shows up feel free to delete.
Been missing for a couple of days, been wallowing in self indulgence which has not been great for me, so Im plaqnning an os relaunch in sky city. Hopefully I'll feel better and the house'll look better.
I'm planning to empty the dishwasher, run the washing machine, and when I return from work, tidy the living room, hopefully. God knows whats for tea, must check the meal plan!!!!
Hope everyone is well and hugs.love to all who need

:hello: Good morning!
Today Mr catz  goes back to work after over 3 weeks off! He will be on restricted hours, owing to the post viral fatigue, to see how he gets on so fingers crossed. He is hardly ever off sick so this has been a shock and a wake up call really - the groovy sun shades are going in with him as he is still sensitive to bright light (perhaps he's a gremlin!;)) anyway we are really thankful that the bells palsy is deminishing.
Today I have to get to grips with some paperwork and do some more baking (snickerdoodles! yum!:D)`walk Penny the puppy (adolescent) and do heaps of laundry:rolleyes: then collapse by the fire with my knitting.
(((hugs))) to Smokey and all who could use one.
Hope you all have as good a day as possible
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Morning
A light dusting of snow this morning, but it will probably be gone by the time I go to work.
Cooked some chilli yesterday, so that's for dinner with rice, and have the chicken legs left from yesterday, so might take those with some salad for lunch.
(( hugs )) to smokey and anyone else who needs one xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Good Morning Weeping River & Lyndseyann, and all to follow.
Must have snowed in the night again here but there is only bits of snow left. Not planning to go out today, have an important business meeting to sort out our cashflow at 10 & have loads of paperwork to do.
If manage to get lots done I suppose we might pop out to our local independant cinema, all four of us can watch a film for less than a tenner.
OH & myself will have leftover lamb with mash & veg for dinner, kids will have pasta - have switched menu plan around.
Feeling a bit nervous about the meeting so will go and start preparing now, hope to have good news later.
Have a great day & (((hugs))) if needed.

Morning.
It's cold out there today, still a little white stuff, but not enough to play in.
I have a day off and it's a little disapointing that it's not warm enough to get my grass cut and other needful jobs.
Yesterday was quite lazy. Once we got church and kids band stuff finished we ended up at Comet and Currys. We needed a new kettle as ours refused to work anymore. Found a nice Breville stainless steel light up one in Currys for £19 from £39. Well pleased. It's one of those silly offers that means you get a far better kettle for the money than anything else on the shelf, why it was cheaper I have no idea...
Then did the same with an iron at Comet. Our old one leaked and so we got a new one, again £19 from 39. Lots of steam and best in it's class. Not a bad days bargain hunting.
I almost bought a new computer. Currys has this Compaq computer with 20 inch flat screen. Huge spec. best on the display for only £399. It would have been a real bargain compared to the rest on display.... But I did not need one bad enough and I have other priorities for my £££savings.
Pity...
I watched 'Something about Mary last night'. Don't know what all the rage was about. I have never seen it before but heard that it was really funny! Couple of bits were, like the dog dying and the zipper scene, but too many F words for amy liking. Not needed.
Hey ho.... have a nice dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Good morning everyone:hello:
It is absolutely freezing here today so I'm cudled up on the sofa with my trusty blankie and a cup of tea. I've got loads to do today cos we go on our hols:j on Saturday (probably last one for quite a while so I'm really going to enjoy it) and I'm in work till Friday and don't want to be rushing round at the last minute.
DS2 was home from uni for the weekend so nothing got done around the house. It'll probably be veggie lasagne for tea cos its a real winter warmer (even though its supposed to be spring)
Anyway enough of this, :grouphug: to everyone who might need them today.

N9eav, is it in something about Mary where he throws the ball and the dog goes out of the window ? I have just finished ready The Insider by Piers Morgan, and that actually happened - a photographer went to photograph Doris Day, and threw a ball for her dog, and it went out of the window, and so did the dogYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0

Good morning everyone!
Good luck to Mr Catz :T
Donny - enjoy your holiday
N9eav - my favourite bit of Something about Mary is the final credits - very funny :j
Had a great weekend. Spent a lot of time in the garden. We reclaimed a piece of garden last year. It was wildly overgrown. We laid a patio and have prepared it to sow seed. We now need a warmer spell so that it germinates, rather than gets eaten by birds
DH is off to China today. He expects that reports of London's Olympic torch parade won't have reached there  and has promised to bring us a copy of the China Daily. He's staying right near the site of the Terracotta Warriors, but probably won't have any time to visit - shame.
Eggy toast and banana splits (choice of the Small Penguins) for lunch. Piadine with the remains of last night's chicken and salad for tea.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning all
Lazy day for me today, I've dropped hubby at the station & instead of running round like a loony getting myself & Katy to work by 7:30, I'm sat here with a cuppa as I don't have to be at work till 9 & Katy is asleep.
I have to pay a cheque into the bank & will have a look in the charity shops while I'm there. I also need to get some more chicken as Katy used all 10 chicken breasts that I had in the freezer, I don't know what worries me most, the fact that she used 5 meals worth of chicken in one go, or the fact that all the cooked chicken is in my fridge which doesn't make it look like she's planning on going away as promised, if she's still here tomorrow I shall have to ask her for more rent, she only paid for 2 weeks as she said she was going to spend the Spring hols with friends.
Hugs to Smokey & anyone else in need.
Hester

Morning all! Cold and frosty here this morning but lovely and sunny.
SMOKY - thinking of you and the children, as always.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
DONNY -I bet you can't wait to be off on your hols!
Good luck back at work Mr CATZ.
N9EAV - I quite agree with you about the 'f' word - you hear it everywhere nowadays and not just in films. I even hear young mothers using it when they tell their toddler children off in the street, which really upsets me. Before my DS2 left home to move into his new house, he bought one of those t-shirts with the French Connection logo on it and I made him take it back to the shop - I told him to tell them why but I bet he didn't! I really hate it with a vengeance, so you can imagine how angry I was when my bank had a 'dress down' day for staff in aid of Children in Need and one the cashiers had it blazoned across his t-shirt in letters a foot high - and he was serving the customers! I had a word with the manager who at least had the grace to say he didn't like it but he had done nothing about it. I'd have given the chap a clip round the ear and sent him home to change but, of course, you can't do that now, can you? Some people have no respect or self-respect. Well, N9EAV - you really fired me up there! Rant over!
I have so much paperwork to do that I'm tempted just to take it out in the garden and set fire to it on the barbecue! Why do we get so much of it when we were promised a 'paperless' society. Oh, no, that's TWO rants on one post! I'll get me coat.
See you later when I've had a cuppa and calmed down!
Have a great day everyone.
