    Morning everybody :hello:

My boss is away this week, but I am NOT going to use this as an opportunity to spend an unreasonable amount of time on here during the day :o

I feel fantastic this morning after a really good night's sleep! Got home at 22:30 and I think I must have gone straight to sleep, because I woke up at 7:30 without my alarm going off (I use the one on my phone, which was on silent) and still had all yesterday's clothes on :o Normally if I fall asleep fully clothed, the lights and/or telly are also on :o but they weren't, so I must have gone some way to putting myself to bed properly - though I have absolutely no memory of doing so! :D

Tonight I need to get to Aldi, as I am out of fresh fruit. Or go to the gym. I can't do both, because if I go to my Aqua Circuit class at 6:15 then Aldi will be shutting by the time I get there. I think I'm going to choose Aldi as there's another Aqua Circuit class tomorrow lunchtime, which I can go to if I get into work early. That way I get to have fresh fruit too!

Meanwhile, lunch is HM red pepper and tomato soup, along with a chunk of the posh bread (potato, rosemary and nigella) left over from the loaf I bought at Borough Market on Saturday.

Just spent £120  from my entertainment budget, however this was for two tickets for each of six different operas over the summer, and the tickets are less than half the price they were last year :j :j My spend will eventually go down to £60 in any case, once I have somebody to go with to each of them and they pay me back for their tickets. They are perfectly good seats, and are an absolute BARGAIN for £10 - the ones immediately next to them cost £39 :D If anybody's in or around West London and is interested, this is at www.operahollandpark.com (the £10 ones are on the ends of the rows, and will sell out quite quickly).

Hugs to all in need especially smoky, Martyn and those who are ill or in pain. Also good luck to Splodge's DD for her C-section tomorrow. Sorry not to have mentioned many people but I haven't really read through the whole thread - as I said earlier, I'm conscious of not wanting to take the P while I'm being paid to work! :D

    Love Rzl xx

    Morning all

first day of the hols so we are celebrating with four nights at Camber Sands - it's going to be cooooooold!!!!!!

exoh is in the midle of painting dd(11)'s room - he let her choose the colours in the end - one wall is lilac, the next a darker lilac - so far so good - the next is apricot, the next lime green and the door neon pink  - honestly just looking at it makes you feel like you're sucking on a tang-fastic - she of course loves it.

One of the girls coming with us has pulled out at the last minute with no explanation - it's a real shame as her littlie is dgs(3)'s little mate so he'll be the only littlie now - there are three pre teen girls though so he should get spoilt if he turns on the charm. Just waiting for dd's friend to turn up - mum dropping her on the way to work - and then we're off - have a great week everyone and don't do anything naughty while I'm away (no pictures of this holiday please Aussie ;) )

    stef

My dd chose her colours for her bedroom a couple of years ago...now midnight blue, ceiling as well. Hmmmm

    Hello

Busying away at work. Got a really good friend working with me, so many catching up and laughing which is great.

Getting broadband at home today, so will be online so much more in the afternoons and evenings. So my regular catch up will be later in the day probably.

Had a lovely roast dinner yesterday and was outside at 9pm making a snowman!!! :D :snow_grin

    Hope everyone's ok

    Hello everyone,

I havnt read the thread today yet, so hope everyone is ok xxx

Found out this morning my friends husband was taken into hospital yesterday, at first they thought he mightve had a stroke, but not sure now. Have been going through many ideas, including glandular fever, mumps or an infection that has just attacked his body. This morning they are thinking testicular cancer. I feel so helpless, cant think of the right words to say to help my friend, i will be having the children after school, but just wish i could do more. Hes only 36.

Have been to the doctors for my blood test, will get the result later in the week, then went to have a cuppa at one of the LOs i look afters house. Have one coming to me in about 15 minutes so earning some money today at last!! Also had exOh ring, he wants the children on Sunday for DDs birthday (apparently he is getting her heeleys dont know if/what else and its the only time he can have them, her birthday isnt for another 3 weeks, but at least hes getting something for her) I hate talking/seeing him. Have just stuffed half a pack of potato salad, followed by a load of maltesers, so feeling fat now as well as down - not like me to feel like this normally - i think its because there isnt anything i can do to help.

Sorry for the moan, i hope everyone else is having a better day.
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I finished early at work, went to the bank & popped into 2 charity shops, I got a huge bag of red wool for £2.50 in one shop, but the other one wanted £1 each for odd half balls, so I didn't buy any there. Then into the local co-op where there was loads of meat reduced, I got 5 packs of lamb, 2 of rump steak & some mince for about £5. I'll do roast lamb for hubby tonight as a treat. I'm making a batch of soup from all the sad veg left in the fridge, so that's me sorted for lunch.
    Hugs Hester

You ARE diong something to help your friend. She knows that her children will be well cared for due to your kind offer of help.

If you want to do something practical, what about a 'ready meal' for her. A pot of bol, or a pot of HM soup with some nice bread. then she won't have to mess around when she gets home from hospital. This will help her to look after herself at a difficult time as well. HTH

    Morning folks,

Catznine - Hope your DH has a good first day back at work

Squiggly - Re: the lack of manners in the older generation - I often find this too, I think it's because many old people feel they have an unquestionable right to have doors held for them etc (which is fair enough), so they don't feel they need to say please or thankyou. Sorry, but no-one is important enough to not have to use basic manners

CatOwen - I hope the doctors find out what is wrong with your friends DH soon. I am sure your friend is eternally grateful for you having the kids afterschool.

You would all hate me as I swear quite a lot :o . HOWEVER, when I was a kid and my brother encouraged me to swear in front of my parents, my mum did actually wash my mouth out with soap and I have never sworn in front of my parents again

I slept until midday :D. Now I am going to have a shower, then hopefully do the ironing (all 10 feet of it). Don't know what the weather is doing, looked out - bright blue sky with not a cloud in sight, next minute it's chucking it down with snow . Anyway, I will stick some washing on the line and hope for the best

OH and I went to the carboot yesterday and got loads of new pictures for the house. His friend also got my new lappy up and running, so now all I need to do is get the files transferred over.

I am hoping today will be a NSD, as I do not need to go out anywhere

Dinner is mixed veg stirfry (reduced), with chicken, and peanut noodles

Hope you all have a good day

    Hello all !

Well we did get some snow in the end but nothing to write home about........bit of a sprinkling last night, everywhere looked a bit 'christmassy' for a bit then quickly disappeared. Today is one of grey skies, bit dismal looking, and still very cold.
OH back at work so I'm in charge of kitchen duties:eek: I know it isn't OS at all but thank heavens for the steak & kidney pie from the supermarket ! Least we're having fresh veg with it and the pie was BOGOF so its money saving.
Been out to the bank........our bank card is starting to become a bit too flexible and won't be long before it snaps in half so a new one's been ordered. Photocopied a load of photos for my son who wants to do his little bit of 'family tree' and sort of fell into the charity shops, came out armed with two bags full of stuff for gift baskets...........all so cheap and so nice, they had to be got !

I should be tidying my bedroom........maybe later ?? Got the afternoon to myself so there's no excuse is there and I know I'll feel tons better for it.

Have a good day whatever you do and hugs ((((((((:o ))))) to those who need them
    Mary

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
