Morning everyone,
It is cold but nice and bright here and looks lovely with the snow still in the trees. Youngest son stayed the night last night as he didn't want to be by his self. We had a long chat in which we both cried and he knows he has to move forward but doesn't really want to as he is still desperate to have her back. He saw his MIL who told him that as far as she was concerned he will always be part of their family. I dont know if this makes it easier or harder for him. Time will tell.
On a more positive note (which I really need ) we are off to cambridgeshire later this morning as our daughter is having a c section tomorrow and we will be grandparents again. The new arrival will be born on our granddaughter's birthday (her daughter). She will certainly have her hands filled with three children aged 5 and under. Let you know what the new arrival is at the end of the week as I don't think we will get anywhere near a computer for a few days.
Love to everyone. Hugs to Smokey and Benthosboy and to anyone who needs them.0 -
Good morning! :hello:
I'll be spending the afternoon with DD2 and DGCs, DGS has chickenpox so we're hoping the weather will be good enough to take him for a walk, as he has to avoid other people atm!
Had a minor panic on Saturday evening, I got a yogurt out of the fridge and it didn't seem very cold - nor did the others - then I noticed the temperature gauge said the fridge compartment was at 25 deg and the warning light was flashing! Having just paid a deposit for a dining set we couldn't afford a new fridge-freezer! I asked DH to check nothing was blocking the vents at the back - and there was, of all things, a peg bag DH bought from RNLI ages ago. It must have been put on top of the fridge to get it off the "hot spot table" I mentioned the other day:o and had fallen down the back. Thankfully all seem fine with the fridge now, but we didn't really fancy the pies we'd been planning to have last night and I got some mince out of the freezer and made cottage pie instead.

So sorry I can't remember what everyone's said, except that there seem to be a lot of folk in Kent this morning - Hi, I'm in Bexleyheath! (It might be a London borough since the 60s, but DH insists he lives in Kent. His family's in Dover)
:hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: to everyone.
Best wishes

This is Arkonites first recipe which I made up yesterday, it includes fruit and is lovely too!
Snickerdoodles Ingredients
8oz plain flour
1 teaspoon bicarb soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 oz caster sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
4 oz soft butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6oz mixed fruit and nuts
Method
Sieve flour bicarb and cinnamon into food processor. Add sugar egg and egg yolk butter and vanilla. Blitz until blended. Add nuts and fruit. Blitz until just blended.
On floured surface roll into two logs and pop into fridge.
Slice logs into 8 - 12 portions. Roll slices into balls and flatten slightly.
Bake on greased or lined cookie sheets at 180 oc for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool slightly on trays then transfer to wire racks until cold.
Store in airtight tins.
Back from walking the puppy and glad to be back in the warm. Mr catz:cool: says thankyou for the good wishes, He walked in this morning but I will be picking him up in the car if needed. Hi Ashlea.
Smoky's husband Eric died on March 17th after contracting a devestating infection following heart operation. She has 3 small children.
Morning all.
I'm supposed to be doing paperwork so will get back to that in a mo.
House is reasonably clean as we were away all weekend. The girls are on holiday but want a lazy day as they had a busy weekend.
DW, Wm and BM are on. No idea what's for tea yet but probably macaroni cheese.
Take care of yourself Pam.

Day three in holiday cottage

Had a great day yesterday on the steam train, bus and river dart trip, was cold though, needed the log burner last night. Kathy we did not get to kingsbridge, too late in the day, but will go later in the week for the famous fish and chips.
Today we are off to start point for a guided tour round a light house, then dinner at a pub famous for its fish dishes. Need to pop to a shop for winethis relaxing is very tireing.

well the essay is done and I am just back from handing it in. I have to say it was the hardest essay I have ever done....and I think its the worst one I have ever written. at least I have handed one in so I wont get a total fail. If worst comes to worst I get to re-submit it in July. Hopefully they will take pity on me and squeeze enough marks for a pass for me.
If I do get a pass it means I can graduate in June
Had to run in to college and kept my fingers crossed I didnt meet anyone because for some reason we have no water here today. My hair is dreadful
they are building houses at the end of the road and I assume its something to do with that but they might have let us know. we dont have a tank anymore so we have no reserve.
will think about food later....if I can get my hair washed I might go and buy some
need to mount search anyway of house for OH wallet. it was on table on saturday night...because I might have taken some money out of it;) but in the rush to clean up yesterday I dont know where it ended up. its in the house somewhere...x x x0
