N9eav, is it in something about Mary where he throws the ball and the dog goes out of the window ?

Yeah after it attacks him, because someone fed it amphetamine. I suppose it was a bit funny. I guess I am fed up with all the swearing in movies. It becomes excessive and unecessary. If you ever watch a movie on the plane it can be really funny, then you watch it on TV and it's full of F words. Anyway wrong thread for going on about that.

I decided to have a rant about swearing here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=9966289#post9966289

Good morning everyone. I hope you are well. I just thought i would have a quiet 5 minutes before i got the children up for school . My sisters children back in Berkshire are just beginning their half term! Dont know why there isnt a national set timetable for holidays, it would certainly make it easier for us to catch up with family. Today I have the usual housework but am popping into the city centre with my eldest daughter. We have both got `attached` to the shabby thread and thought we would have a look at TK max as they do lovely things.I hope to make a roast dinner tonight, but need some food shopping first.Hugs to those that are struggling, especially smokey and her family.x

    Morning All

Packing the 'van day today, wellies, thick jumpers, thermals, a bit different to our normal pack.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . Also Blood Donation day for DH and me, finishing everything off and tidying through.

Thanks for the good wishes, yes Moiliere I can't wait, just one more sleep.:j :j

Any Londoners tell me what the best time inthe day to go down M11,M25,QE Bridge is with a caravan? Without queuing all the way - we were thinking around lunch time?

Another one here for a hatred of the F word, feel it is totally abused and mis-used. I worked with one guy I worked closely with (and to be honest all the guys a factory full of them) respected my dislike, used to explode with S*x and Travel, which when you boil it down is all it is, then again I had no problem telling them I objected and while if there was a heated discussion, I would keep out of the way, they heard me very loud if they ever tried using it at me. The other hatred is parts of the female anatomy used as swear words, I often used to stun the guys into silence (and they took the hint not to use it again) by saying, it amazed me why you use the words for the parts you like the most for swearing IYKWIM. . There was a couple of funny occasions, one was a Production Manager, sadly no longer with us, who was renouned for its use in the factory, walked out of the office one day with steam coming out of his ears, and when asked what was up, said he had had a disagreement with me, but couldn't swear at me so had to walk away. This same guy, when we had Americans over and one in particular who I dont think knew many more words, took him to one side and told him to button it in my earshot.

Backup up the PC atm. and nearly finished first coffee.

Have a good Monday - ((hugs)) all round - Martyn - come on I know there hasn't been a lot of response on the other board, so register in here and say hello. ((Smoky))

I cannot abide bad language especially out in public places, people don't seem to care about offending those around them like the elderly or small children let alone folk like me!

I once took an audio book (Jilly Cooper) back to the library early as I was so fed up with all the f words! Mr catz still teases me about that!

Right I really must get on with the day and go make up a pan of porridge with honey and cranberries in it today, that should keep us warm!

    n9eave - I have joined you for a rant!:D

    Morning all

first day of the hols so we are celebrating with four nights at Camber Sands - it's going to be cooooooold!!!!!!

exoh is in the midle of painting dd(11)'s room - he let her choose the colours in the end - one wall is lilac, the next a darker lilac - so far so good - the next is apricot, the next lime green and the door neon pink  - honestly just looking at it makes you feel like you're sucking on a tang-fastic - she of course loves it.

One of the girls coming with us has pulled out at the last minute with no explanation - it's a real shame as her littlie is dgs(3)'s little mate so he'll be the only littlie now - there are three pre teen girls though so he should get spoilt if he turns on the charm. Just waiting for dd's friend to turn up - mum dropping her on the way to work - and then we're off - have a great week everyone and don't do anything naughty while I'm away (no pictures of this holiday please Aussie ;) )

    Morning everyone

Sitting in rural Kent, sun shining & looking out over a Christmas card snow-scene, lol! Going into Maidstone later as there is a Hobbycraft so I may go & explore... (and obviously not spend any money whatsoever..!!) And perhaps a little further towards Rochester as there is another craft 'factory shop' type of place my mate says is well worth a look :)

I'm up here as my kids are just starting their 2 weeks off now as Sussex switched to the 6-term year with fixed hols. Don't think it means we can avoid high holiday prices though

I agree about the swearing - I can sort of ignore it when it's in a book I'm reading, but I hate hearing it everywhere - especially people screaming at their (often very little) children... The other thing about manners that gets me is I have always taught my DD's to hold doors open for people etc - and unfortunately it's very often the much older generation who don't make any acknowledgement to them whatsoever.... How are kids going to learn by example when they see/hear swearing everywhere & see that manners aren't appreciated?

Snickerdoodles - I don't know what they are, but I love the name & NEED to find the recipe.... unless some kind & helpful soul can point out the link... :rotfl: :T

only flying in kids back at school today so lunchobxes etc need doing
will read through properly later but firstly hugs to all those in need or just wanting one.
i totally agree about swearing both in films and parents in front of their children -i hear loads in the school playground at pick up/drop off time:mad: .

had a very OS day yesterday brought a big piece of heavy fabric off the market for £3 and made a new liner for my shopping trolley, then mended a couple of pairs of the girls jeans with holes in and adjusted DHs magnetic knee strap - the velcro was too rough on the back of the knee so i bound the top edge with bias binding to stop it rubbing-he can wear it again now.
planted lots of seeds with youngest DS over the weekend, and brought a terracotta strawberry tub (£7 in tesco) a tray of tom plants and a tray of violas (reduced to £1.50 each in B&Q). i managed to finish a square as well over the weekend so pleased with that.

ironing and baking today once the kids are despached off to school

hope everyones day has something nice in it.

    morning all

Still frrrrrrreezing cold here in Kent, lots of snow still around.

Had a lovely quiet day by the tele yesterday while the snow fell, watching the footie and then we watched the DVD Rendition. Don't know if anyone else has seen it but there are long conversations in Arabic that aren't subtitled so it was sometimes difficult to follow the plot. Saying that, by the end it was all explained but it would have been nice to have understood what they were saying.

Am planning to go to Bluewater today to have a mooch round as long as my car will start, the battery is playing up at the mo and with this cold weather........... oh well fingers crossed.

Hope you all keep warm today. xx

    Hello Possums, :D

I haven't done a great deal today other than the usual stuff. My monitor wouldn't work again this morning but when DH came home he fixed it up. Be interesting to see if it works again tomorrow morning. I've started another square, so will do some of that tonight. I was going into town Wednesday but it will have to be tomorrow arv now. XDIL due to her ankle has run out of a few groceries and has asked me to get them.

CM Hope you had a good work out at the gym this morning. ;)
    MrsMix
Catz Don't forget to do all that work before you do the knitting. :D
<hugs> to those feeling low or ill. Hope you have a better day.

TBH I can't remember the swearing in that movie. It was ages ago when I watched it but I didn't think it was funny at all. But swearing gets to me as well. Gordon Ramsey has a potty mouth doesn't he? :D
Will pop back later. Hopefully Tired Mum will send me another photo soon. ;) Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
