I'm in severe danger of eggs in one basket and no-one could ever accuse me of having a diverse portfolio so I need to get moving on that

    Naughty naughty!

I remember a bizarre news story from the start of the financial crisis about a retired military duffer who had put £250k in BOS shares and had pretty much lost the lot overnight.

Even at the time (with no real interest in investing), I was sitting there thinking 'why would you bet your future income on a single share?!!!'

Eek, nearly two months since I last posted, where does the time go to :o

Still quietly plodding on with my monthly OP's and it's feeling like a plod as well at the moment.

My planned increases to standard OP's have taken a hit as I'm going through a period of non occupancy in the BTL at the moment and of course with perfect timing it's happened just as i'd cleared out the reserve fund after decorating etc. So, things are tight but manageable and i'm paying for BTL out of my own funds currently which i'm far from happy about!

I'm sure I've done lots of other MSE stuff but it's all a haze so won't try and remember :rotfl:

Roll on payday is all I can say and it's some while of yet...

Hope you are all well and going great guns with your own plans

Just updated my signature and now through the 60k repaid barrier so now off to update my MFiT position as the next quarterly update is due very soon

    Regards

Gah, it's not going at all Ed, i'm now at Olympic standards of activity avoidance :o....

In all honesty it's going to have to stay on the back burner for now, my current focus is pensions as have some stuff going on with that at the moment..

Did lots of freezer cooking yesterday, I rarely visit S@insburys these days but needed to yesterday and timed some of the items just right and got to use my £6 off a £40 shop and also got voucher for £1.50 off next shop re brand match

Although things are very tight re covering the BTL i'm still managing to save £500 per month too so things could be a lot worse

Just in the midst of booking a few days city break for a month or to so need to cover that too

For the last couple of months I've been having the biggest sort and chuck out ever. It's odd isn't it as my house is tidy and organised, nothing lives on the floor or on top of cupboards and there are space in all cupboards, so... you think all must be well

However, having landed by kind of an accident on a hoarding site it made me think about things again and what started out as a clothes sort expanded rapidly. I've done tonnes of shredding, many a trip to the CS shop, donations to other places and have really enjoyed it actually cos i'm a saddo like that ;)

Much progress has made which is surprising really as I did lots of stuff like this pre Christmas when I was preparing for the decorator new furniture etc but it just goes to show there is always more! Think i'm getting to the end of it now :p

Can you share which site it is? I love these sorts of sites but need a regular supply as I start with really good intentions plough through a load and then loose motivation until I stumble across another one. :D

    Morning all

Just updated my signature and made first OP of the month of £400 and hope to make some more over the course of the next couple of weeks

Things still quite here yet but think BTL front is improving so more of that next month but in the meantime i'm still managing to save so can't complain too much

Need to renew my travel insurance so hoping to do that over the weekend

Bit of a spendy weekend planned with food, hair cut needed and few other bits ;)

    Regards
