Just sent that £65.14 as an OP and rounded it up to £100 so will update my sig in a mo

New monthly saver ticking along nicely at £250 a month but I need to revisit the budget bit of my spreadsheet as suspect it's a few pounds off

Over the weekend I also converted a few small accounts to the latest rate now that the old ones had expired, those accounts do not really hold 'my' money as it's money I save for the small members of the family :D

I'm really not in the mood for work today, can you tell by the postathon :D

Have just [STRIKE]had play[/STRIKE] analysed spreadsheet and look to be on track for MFW date of 1/8/18 albeit it will be very tight

Quite pleased with that as a while ago was thinking I might be behind by as much as £30k

If I've done the maths right this will also mean that I don't have to sell my investment share portfolio either

Sill not convinced I'm doing the right thing by using ISA's, the rates are so rubbish i'm sorely tempted to throw the money at the mortgage....

Just came back from a LOOOOOONG session with the Financial Advisor and we talked about ISAs a lot. If B@rclays had not stopped messing about with creating a new one each year I think I would have cashed in all mine and thrown them at the mortgage but they finally came up with one to roll all the other ones into and now at least I get a decent rate... but let's see what they do come April. I wouldn't put it past them to "introduce a FANTASTIC new rate ISA"... which will not take others in, and I will be back to having multiple - which is too much of a pain in the botty!

Thanks Hurdler, your LONNNNNG session with the IFA sounds fun :p

I help a family member with their finances and they have ISA's all over the place and it gets really frustrating doesn't it

My own ISA situation is much more simple, one S&S that I need to add to and one cash ISA from last year. I think I'm going to go for a H@lifax one this time around but unless something changes with the rates next year then will think long and hard about doing another. Sometimes I feel like I *should* have an ISA but it's not always easy to convince yourself it's the right thing to do when you see some of the other non-ISA rates available

    Morning all

Just made an OP of £625 so that along with the normal monthly payment means I've just sneaked into the £120's from the £130's :j

I'm hoping to sneak in another OP of roughly the same amount over the next 3-4 weeks too

A NSD day planned for today and to-morrow and then the weekend will be here, can't wait!

Right, off to update my signature - my favourite monthly task :D

Siggy updated and just worked out that I'm £382.78 behind this years OP target so should make that up and more by further Op's this month

Am3x CC £6.72 in credit from a refund and T3sco CC at nil

Must do some cooking at the weekend as my freezer is looking a bit sparse and I also want to try a new recipe for spinach and goats cheese muffins

Got a couple of very yakky jobs to do this week that are money related and weighing on my mind so must get them over and done with

It's sooooo windy here, don't think i'll be going far today!

    Morning all

Just updated my siggy as found a mistake in my spreadsheet for this year

Fortunately in my favour but i'd missed/forgotten that the monthly normal payment I make to the IO part is fixed but the interest that is actually charged is going down due to OPs - meaning that my monthly normal payment currently includes an inbuilt £13 Op IYSWIM. Not a great deal but it all helps and means that I owe £39 less than thought

Stretch target for the end of the year is to get the IO part down to £50k

I've also passed another milestone as now paid back £60,111 since I first took the mortgage

Well I had thought the last couple of days would be NSD's but a little home problem cropped up that couldn't wait so now £100 lighter but pleased it's mostly resolved

I say mostly as need a further check of something next week which could lead to further outlay but will cross that bridge when I come to it

Well I got two different batches of muffins done yesterday and chicken marinade done for small family meal last night. I'd use the panko again but the marinade was just 'ok' so don't think i'd do it again

Didn't feel quite right yesterday morning and by night time has sore throat and earache so glad I was just with close family and didn't have to be all sparkly and entertaining ;)

I didn't manage any freezer cooking so will have to do that today though. Do feel a bit better but still just a bit off

Did a 2.5 mile walk this morning as although I certainly didn't feel up to it I thought might clear the cobwebs a bit, the walk was really nice and sunny with blue skies but still pretty windy

I was also trying to break in a new pair of trainers and came home with three blisters for my trouble, think I was a bit ambitious with the length of walk for the first time in those shoes, I should have taken other shoes with me to swap into if/when new ones hurt, great hindsight ay

Also had a quick whizz around the garden and filled a big back of random debris that had blown in with all the wind we've had so that's a good job done but will probably have to be an ongoing job until the weather settles
